My van has a 'Free Champagne' sign on the side. I go for a different demographic.Despite what they say, those strangers do NOT have any candy for you.

I cannot possibly say.
Does it work?
I took this shot the other day. Then I had to get back to work...
A pair of backsides:

my favorite Bowie bass part...
Believe yer right. No cord in the tele, 2 sax parts,1 sax, and some inaccuracies in lip(almost)synching.Goofy video (Bryan Ferry does it again) but a great bass line. Bowie was very fond of RM. Seems like playback, fingers on a P don't sound like that..
I thought it looked kinda wide.Too badWell, it's here and the good news is that I hate it!

Don't get me wrong, it's GORGEOUS drool but as soon as I picked it up by the neck, I knew that was the end of the love affair. It's got a neck that feels nearly as wide as my G&L L-2500 (that's a 5 stringer, for those of you that don't speak GandLese).
I will be pulling this and my G&L SB-2 (a PJ bass) apart and making a nice ThunderB-2 (trademarking that now!)
same here......my backyard..

Yeah, it's definitely P-bass width 1.68" but that's not that big a deal. I'll swap necks and if that makes me happy, I'll rout & install the PJ pups and if that continues to make me happy, then I'll beI thought it looked kinda wide.Too bad![]()
while I
Still at the office with no amp, so I can't answer that just yetHow does it sound?
Yeah weird how that works. I grew up in the FL Everglades and as much as I love the desert I get missing the swamp once in awhile..I grew up in El Paso with literally nothing over our back fence but desert. Every year or so we would go visit family in Tucson, with literally nothing but desert across the street from their front yard. While I love life in Austin, I really miss the desert. Need to get back for a visit.
Permit me a"rant". The bass lines on the previous songs were just that:lines. As bassists we often hose ourselves. The Ox, JPJ, Sir Paul, Jamerson, et al. They played lines or patterns, not droning tonic 1/8th notes. Even playing the root in time with the bass drum[boom,boom-boom]. I have been watching(late night)a bunch of re-broadcasts of mostly UK festivals. Many of the bands use a keyboard player holding down the root with the left hand and a chord-or moving line-in the right, thus eliminating the need for a bassist playing one note at a time. If you're doing covers and that's what the original bass part is, that's fine. I've been playing bass since 1967(still trying to get it right), and to me the most interesting bass parts do something. With economics being what they are(suck), bands and/or venues are cutting expenses-at least in S.FL-and I don't want to be eliminated. BTW, if it comes down to it, I play just enuff keyboard and sing sufficiently to keep working, but I wanna play my TBirds.Hard to have a favorite. Between Trevor and George Murray, there are too many to choose from. This is certainly a great one with that tone.......
I was blown away by Murray when Bowie came around on the Station tour. He was a lot bigger than Bowie, kinda reminded me of Springsteen and Clemons.
"Rant" over. Now back to our regularly scheduled car, food and BASS talk. Thank you and g'day. That's "double probation secret squirrel"switch. Is there any specific magic to a 'kill switch' on a bass? In other words, can I just use a simple on-off toggle switch or do I need some multi stage super secret squirrel switch? I'm thinking that, since I'm going to be messing around with this new project, I should include the nice-to-haves![]()
