Thunderbird Club

Lastly was Carter's Vintage Guitars... fell in love with a Waterstone semi-hollow 12 string... they also had two 1963/64 Firebirds, two original Epiphone Embassy's, and some really cool amps!

Then we left Nashville. On the way home we stopped at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, and I took a ride in Corvette around the track their.... obviously in the passenger seat (no pics of that unfortunately)

Nice. And Happy B-Day!

I go for the spelling and pronunciation. It makes me feel far more normal when they look at me funny after I say something like "Ima gawn mosey awn up'uh pike a piece f'm'vittles." They talk funny, too. English is a funny language. I sat next to an Egyptian on an airplane and had a long discussion about how amusing accents were in Arabic and how amusing they were in English. She described the regional dialects in the Middle East and how Egyptians couldn't make head or tail of some of the other regional dialects. Those dialects may as well be different languages, not Arabic. She said she had a good time traveling around the US with her American husband, listening to all the dialects. She thought New Yorkers were pretty tough, so I gave her a concentrated dose of pure Carolina hill twang. The look on her face was priceless.

Point being that between the US and Canada, we have it pretty good. We speak the same language and can even understand each other most of the time. Even if Canadian bacon is what the English call bacon and what we eat is what the English call streaky bacon. I have that from a reliable source.
Just so it's bacon.

I have a '67 NR that is 52" long. Most commercial cases are 48''-or less. Find out from your tech what the OAL will be. Or go short(er) scale-32" instead of 34".
Thanks. I'm not sure what OAL gonna be yet. I was trying to do some homework first. But, that info is good to know. I'm trying to avoid breaking out my Anvil case just to take it to rehearsal!!

Unfortunately due to continued problems with my health, I need to sell my two Epiphone Thunderbird basses. They are awesome and in New condition. Due to the inconvenience of shipping and prohibitive costs I am only able to list them locally. I guess that means I will have to relinquish my membership, as short as it was, to this fine club.

G’day mate,

Cases seem to be a bit of an issue. There has been a bit of talk, even over the last few pages, so I’m sure someone will be along soon that could help.

I’ll add that from memory Carlo @Dadagoboi builds his Cataldo’s, including NRs, to fit standard Fender bass cases. So that is possible in a build.
Im sure Carlo will correct me if I have it wrong.
Thanks for the reply. I don't have the dimensions of the bass yet. It's still in the planning stages, so that might be something to keep in mind when he's building it. I'm definitely not interested in carrying around an Anvil flight case all the time.

Did you switch the PG's on your TBirds?

Also, good luck with whatever is in your way and good luck with your sales.

Thanks everyone. The way things go here in Phoenix area I might never sell them. My health problems are not major, just lingering and have caused me to use up paid time off. So I've had to take unpaid leave. I've got other items for sale, so it could end up I keep 1 or both of the Birds. But, you never know.
