If it is factory, it's probably about the only one they made. Your point about the size of the headstock is well taken. I'll have to look at my EB to see what it looks like. I don't believe its headstock is quite that big. I bet it sounds amazing, what with the set maple neck, ash body, and DiCola pickups.

I got a pedal that does octaves as a way around not having an eight or twelve string. Partly because a pedal doesn't require any technique adjustments or practice, partly because it turns everything into an 8 string on demand, partly because it sounds really weird and great with the upright. Octave bow is almost as good as fuzz bow.

Which pedal?

Mooer Tender Mk II. It does both high and low octaves. I tried other ones, but they are just kinda muddy sounding with bass. They work fine with guitar, but they go all to pieces with tracking if you sustain a low note. The Mooer tracks pretty well, and turning the low octave down to just a hint solves the problem. It sounds a bit synth-like at times. It can sound like an 8 string bass with the high octave only. You don't get the same attack sound as you would with an extra string, since both sounds happen at the same time. I notice, and you probably would, but I doubt audiences would pick it out much.

Yep. Everything gets changed, messed with, and reconfigured. The one definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. My version is doing it different every time and expecting the same outcome. Nothing ever gets done quite the same twice. Quality control? Meh. We got experiments.

I bet that sounds good and mean!

It sounds kinda strange, but it really fit my purposes at the time and I still like it that way. The neck pup was in the way of my fingers so I took it out originally, but then the bridge pup solo was a little too much growl for the jazz band I was in, so I switched the bridge out and put the neck in. Now it sounds fairly mellow with a bit of a bite, but if I run it through a boost it'll bite hard. Fairly versatile, strangely.

I've been thinking hard about doing a refin on mine, but I can't figure out how to strip the neck down without ruining it. Anybody have experience in this? It's a bolt on which makes it easier, but I don't know how to remove the finish off it.

One of the hottest peppers around. We usually stick toothpicks in them and suck on it. (Haromph!) one year, a co-worker took a big bite. We all thought he was going to die.

No, really, they’re mind bending hot. They even look angry.

I have grown Habaneros in the past, with good results, but I can just eat them. Those? Maybe not so much.
