I'd like to hear it, but I say that with some caution as I recall Scott GoT59 had an 8 string one and felt it was somewhat lacking.
The Waterstone 8 was indeed lacking. Hundreds of dollars in parts upgrades and it still made a bolt on Epi look spectacular. I believe I said the best thing about it was the case. I kept the case, the bass is long gone.

?? Chinese?

Probably Chinese made but I don't know for sure. I hear both good and bad stories from people that own/owned Waterstone. I trust Scott's judgement completely and if he says the 8 string was bad I won't question him on it. My tech owns a brand new Waterstone 12 string bass and he raves about the quality while another friend had the 12 string and said it was garbage. Maybe it's hit and miss with them and some batches are good and others not so much. I would buy one of their basses, but only if I could return it or had plans to modify it as a project.

I think the TP 12vers are much better quality than the V basses, I played one of Petersson's , beautiful bass. It had been refinished and gone over thoroughly though.
