The heavy metal conversation led me to thinking of this. It isn’t Heavy Metal I don’t think, but maybe a little heavier than you would think by the title.

Eleanor Rigby by The Zoot from about 1970. So not before the Iron B either.
Three Zoot members spent a bit of time in the US after they finished up The Zoot. Rick Springfield, Beeb Birtles and Daryl Cotton.

Hope you like, I’d be interested in comments on the genre you think this lands in.

Never really liked the original much so this version sounds like an improvement to me. The instrumental sounds metal enough to pass, not so much on the vocal portion of the track. If the singer had more of an Ozzy Osbourne voice it would be perfect.

Could be worse, you could have asked for opinions on this...

I'm with GB - Zoot sounds rather metal, but the vocals... I maintain that anything can be made to be metal. And likewise, Pat Boone can do any song and make it acceptable to a grandmother.

That will be a great show in a great venue. I saw the Dead Kennedys there in about 1981, with seven or eight other punk bands of varying degrees of competence. It was a complete non sequitor to have that show in that room, but it sure was fun. I hate to think what kinds of disinfectants they would use on all the spilled blood if that show happened now. The whole place turned into a mosh pit, and it's a miracle if none of the stage divers incurred permanent injury.

They keep the place pretty well put together since it was renovated.
I've seen Dweezil there a few times, always get good seats. Time for something a little fun in my life.

I was in a band that opened for the DK's in 1986. The show was in boxing arena (Blue Horizon Ballroom, Philadelphia) and held about 700+. Total insanity when the DK's started. The building was essential a large rectangle shape with a second floor balcony on 3 sides. I remember people jumping from the balcony in to the mosh pit below.

Another funny memory was that Jello Biafra had a mic with a very long cable and since the people were packed in so tightly, he would get a running start on stage and run about 20ft-30ft into the audience before falling to the floor and then being passed overhead back to stage. Like your scnario, nobody seemed to get gravely injured and much fun was had by all.
