Thunderbird Club

I was never very aware of a hero Thunderbird player. But of the players I liked, the two Toms - Hamilton & Petersson qualify.

I didn't gravitate to a T-bird because of a famous player either. I knew about Entwistle, Overend Watts and Martin Turner/Wishbone Ash, but just thought it was an awesome bass. :bassist: I liked Jack Bruce and Tim Bogart, but didn't really want to be them... :)

Loved Bogert's playing but that bass was pretty ugly....

Tim was an early "modder" - he was always mixing and matching parts. His P-bass had a (late 60's) Tele neck and he installed a small bar above the bridge to anchor his fingers on playing 16th note runs. (you can see it in the pic). He was developing a signature bass with Fender in the late 60's (with a Tele guitar-style body) that never panned out.

Showing Tim play the Tele-sig

Every close up he looks like he's in pain-prolly from playing an FSO. Love the high water pants.:rollno:

Bird in Action: A friend let me know he put a snipet of a gig I played on youtube. Me and some old friends playing a few old songs from original bands we used to be in in 80's/early 90's. It was quick 3 song set as a pre-opener to the opener! Sounds like the early 90's to me!;)

Good stuff. Be careful, though. We don't need a repeat of the windmill episode.

Found The Balvennie Triple Cask 12 year, add a fraction of water and no burn. They say it is an airport duty free only product, but have a look. I tried a few singles killing time before a flight. Burn, burn, burn. But not that one. I bought it.

Blends - I like Chivas Regal, and in Irish I like Tullamore DEW. They both seem smooth and burn free to me.

Be aware though, I am a long way short of being knowledgeable. I just like those.
The Balvenie is amazing.
