You are a better man than I.I wish! Cutting out carbs to address this winter weight that’s piling back on. No booze of any kind for awhile, I’m afraid

Yes, inquiring minds want to know.
My bad, the peavey tko 115 )or actually any old peavey combo/head. Great workhorses, built like tanks & somewhat easy enough to repair if ever.
I knew I liked you for a reason!
Glen Morangie is my favorite, hands down. Especially the Quinta Ruban variant. It isnt cheap, but you can spend a lot more. So, there you have it!Until a coupla years ago, I had no use for Scotch-I had only tasted 'blended'. Then I tried 'Single Malt', expecting to dislike it too. Oh, My!Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie(and the other Glens), Balvenie. Mmmmmm.![]()
I was perusing the Sweetwater website this morning and see that Boom Bass Cabinets has a new 210 115 rated at a massive 2200 watts. Very compact but goes down to 30Hz. To say the least, it stretches credibility, but I am curious. Has anyone here tried one? I am not in the market for a cab; just curiosity gets the better of me...

I'm still totally diggin the Dunlop Superbrights i put on one of my fso's.
When the kid leaves home, you get the biggest raise, er, cost reduction that you will ever have. Then you will suddenly have disposable income! Kinda sorta anyway. What a concept! All true, I had a bottle given by my wife. I told her we would not touch it till we either bought a house or had a kid, we bought a house. now we have both but no Blue label to drink![]()
With a red EB-2 on the cover. It is a heartwarming sight. Only one pickup is an issue. Just because.Well, I hafta say goodbye for awhile. This just arrived at my door: View attachment 3271441
There are some fans of those cabs out there, so could be well worth checking out. As to the specs? That’s a pretty outrageous claim, but who knows?! A lot of speaker and amp companies get busted for exaggerated specs and when they do, the typical response is along the lines of “what we mean is, because of our new super secret advanced technology, you get the ‘feeling’ of those higher specs.” Most gear bench tests lower than the claimed specs. GK are an exception. Most of their amps bench test HIGHER than their claimed specs, at least with their amps. Not sure on their cabs. I’m not currently using any of their gear (I have a busted MB800 laying around somewhere), but I do like their amps and respect the company for making very good, mostly reliable gear for a very long time.
Its unfortumate, carbs are absolutely addictive, i am challengimg myself to eat less than 20g carb a day. A challenge for sure. You are a better man than I.

I have Pure Blues on my JC right now. I didn't like them at first, but they settled in nicely. They appear to have a lot of fundamental to them - boomy compared to everything else I have used. Just a huge bottom end (ahem) to them. They appear to have higher output than other strings as well; much easier to get some grind. Clipping lights light up after switching to that bass until gain is adjusted. The feel is great though. Not decided yet on how I feel about them (I go back and forth on liking/not liking) but others have said that they sound great and fit well with guitar. So maybe it is one of those things; alone they don't match what you want to hear but in a band context they are great? For my Prayer Flags gig the other night I tried DR Pure Blues strings. They were ok. Solid fundamental, which was nice, but lacked a bit of ‘snap’ up top that I prefer for that kind of music

Yeah, the trifecta was Fixer/Christine/Kat. Those three could keep any thread full of fun new posts. Sadly, I just don't see any of them on here anymore. But carry on we must!
So.... everybody, Post a picture of your favorite bird rockin bassist (pro or amateur) in action!
My favorite...

Found The Balvennie Triple Cask 12 year, add a fraction of water and no burn. They say it is an airport duty free only product, but have a look. I tried a few singles killing time before a flight. Burn, burn, burn. But not that one. I bought it.I bought a bottle of their platinum label thinking it would be really good (I know nothing about scotch, but wanted to see what all the club hubbub is here). I wasn't impressed. I want a smooth creamy rich drink (neat or on the rocks) that doesn't excel in alcohol burn all the way down to my gut.
I can get that with Rum, Tequila, Vodka or Gin. I just haven't found a whisky, bourbon or scotch I like yet. I'm sure there's one out there, but I haven't found it.
Does anyone actually "own" a cat? It seems to me that we are more like servants to the catBecause I know there are a lot of cat "owners" here:View attachment 3270839
