The guitarist in my cover band says it’s the most aggressive bass he’s ever heard. And that was with Chromes!

Yeah, the JC is not the thumpy rhythm machine that you expect from a semi-hollow. It has a great growl to it that would be quite at home playing metal/punk/classic rock. I think that most of the magic is in the pick up, but I am open to arguments for other factors. Come to think of it, my Midtown is not a thumpy rhythm machine either; it gets aggressive too.

I find I have to keep the gain way down on my PF-50T or the JC will push the preamp into distortion. She’s hot!
