Oh yeah...I’m all about that....next one will be hollow for sure....especially since I love watching tv and playing....I spend much time unplugged
Ok yeah I’ve played one in long and mcquade.... obviously it’s acoustic sound beats everything on the wall.... I’m most likely going for the Gretsch electromatic....I want to try the short scale version.... eb2 is also on the list.

in a nutshell without all the specifics, in theory, if you reduce the 120 volts from the wall outlet to your amp, the amp will not be as loud and will distort earlier. a Variac will allow you to do this..I need a clue. Way beyond my scope .

Not knocking all that. The only slapping I do is to 'slap' the PA pieces together, the popping comes from my knees, and the bending is picking up the gear at the end of the gig to put in my van. Getting old(er) is for the (not Thunder)birds.

Thunderbird sighting: I was watching the documentary Hired Gun on Netflix, about studio musicians. A bassist for Pink was playing a black Thunderbird. Can't find any photos online, though.
@GonePlaid I've seen a lot of petite females playing Thunderbirds, so I don't think you have anything to worry about if you're interested in checking one out.
