Thunderbird Club

ever been to "The Flaming Pit" (for you Seattleites, picture "The Wedgewood Broiler") in Pompano? Who knows if they are still there.....Best Early Bird specials EVER!!..

I'm looking for some high-waisted (with an elastic band) pants to wear to the dinner special at the local Sizzler - gotta get done early so I can watch Matlock at 4:00PM.

Thunderbird sighting: I was watching the documentary Hired Gun on Netflix, about studio musicians. A bassist for Pink was playing a black Thunderbird. Can't find any photos online, though.

@GonePlaid I've seen a lot of petite females playing Thunderbirds, so I don't think you have anything to worry about if you're interested in checking one out.
I actually fingered one(insert "ehem" here)at GC, WPB. No strap, no amp. They were about to close. It kinda felt like.........a Thunderbird. I'm just used to mine but I wouldn't refuse one, especially a 'Gibby'.

Ok yeah I’ve played one in long and mcquade.... obviously it’s acoustic sound beats everything on the wall.... I’m most likely going for the Gretsch electromatic....I want to try the short scale version.... eb2 is also on the list.
I've been very happy with my Ibanez AGB 200 semi-hollow. Not an actual AEB, but you can mess with it w/o plugging in to an amp.0607181547-00.jpg Sounds quite UB-y with the D'Addario tapewounds that I just put on. $550-$600.

I think on a strap the frets will come in closer to you than on your lap. I was surprised when I first got my Thunderbird how the frets came in on or two frets closer than my Carvin.

I routinely use the 50 and 250 setting. 500 gets really grindy.

Usually 250 for me.

From memory, the 50 gets closer to the acoustic style sound. I have watched many video reviews of the JCB and think I’d be in the 50 & 250 usage as well.

You guys don’t think the impedance switch is a gimmick then ?
I think the LP Signature had something similar and Jack C must have wanted it.

I find all the Artcore range (those I’ve seen anyway) to be most attractive. The guitars as well.

Grand Slam breakfast tomorrow at Denny's. Sansabelt trousers in powder blue plaid make it all possible.

“Road Train” - yes they are scary big,
And mate if I’m coming the other way they can take any side of the road they like.

(The convention is to get off to the side of road as many roads aren’t big enough for both to pass safely... and the road train ain’t moving )

reminds me of riding motorcycles in the street. Been puled in front of, turned in front of all kinds of things that'll kill a guy. In my circle we always said..."it doesn't matter who's right, your still dead!". Let that train ride on through.
