Thunderbird Club

Whoa! So nice to see a post from Kat!
How does one go about ‘lending’ Logic Pro X? That’s what I use, but no one’s ever asked to borrow it :)

Dunno ... upload to dropbox or put on a memory stick would be options. Garageband ain't cutting it anymore, but there are other things I need to spend money on = 2 x Røde NT2A LDCs. I have collected Waves doubler/harmoniser and U1176 comp plugins, as well as a Space Echo and EMT plate (which was free = good price). I'm only short a CL2A comp, then I'm good to go.

I've been squashing the fvck out of Garageband's zombie drummers (U1176 in British mode) -- I think there may be some unresolved hostility there, as drummers never answer emails ... as opposed to guitarists who are just arseholes who refuse to learn arrangements or play your song the way you want/ask.

Don't hold back!

I got my eye on that new WD800.
Duke-O uses a D-800.

Which one is the the WD800? I’ve been all about samplers, synths and pedals for awhile and have a few amps that work well, so hadn’t been thinking about it much.
I still like the Mesa D800 quite a bit, especially on doubling gigs. It’s certainly outlived any other class D amp I’ve ever owned.

Mesa’s latest release. Based off the Walk About.

Here’s something I think you will all find interesting. A good friend of mine’s father was a part owner of Moog Music during the Norlin years. He invented the MemoryMoog and was a a pretty cool cat. My friend is writing a book on that era, and during his research, came in contact with this guy that owns a huge collection of vintage gear. And I mean huge. Keith Emerson’s rigs. (Complete with daggers!) Amps from The Who. Zappa’s studio desk. (And his coffe table for some reason.) Jimi’s pedals.
Early models of every synth you can imagine. On and on.
But what’s cool is that the owner has opened it up as a museum/research lab/studio space. So it’s not just being stored away. My friend created the website and I got a video tour last night. Check it out at: emeapp.org. There is also a FB page.

I’m a Mesa endorser...I shoulda probably known that :)
Been so deep into the single source stuff I’m losing touch!

So it gets a thumbs up with a Thunderbird?

I’m hesitant to recommend amps because we’re all so different (thank goodness!). That said, I think it’s a really nice amp, but I love my T Bird with GK amps and other stuff too. I could be full of it, but every amp I own sounds better at 4 ohms than 8, except the D800, which sounds fine either way :)

Interesting. Thanks for the link.
