Thunderbird Club

me too. just couldn't pass it up, figure I flip it..
Oh, hells yeah, I just can't see moving it. If $ were no object-and I had a place to use it-I'd love to have a monster rig. I'm not even sure what but I could get one of everything and weed 'em out.

Yeah, it was. My first cruise(66)was on USS Yorktown, now a museum in Charleston, SC. Iwas able to take my daughter and my 'bitter half' to see where I'd spent 6 months out in the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club.

If you tell the Army to secure a building, they will surround it with barbed wire, set up controlled access points, and establish a set of passwords for access.
If you tell the Navy to secure a building, they will go through and turn off all the lights and make sure that the coffee maker is ready to go for the morning.
If you tell the Air Force to secure a building, they will sign a one year lease with an option to buy.

Lotta truth there.

Wish I could have a rehearsal spot at my place where I could keep it. As it is, I got a really good deal on an ACC rig (220 head/406 cab) about a year ago and that already lives at our rehearsal spot which is a little small to accommodate the SVT so for now, it will live in the garage along with it's older sister...

Mine was the 'blue line' version.

I only have experience with the Traynor. I think it sounds great (and loud) but the "mixed cab police" hear lots of flaws with their eyes.
Back in the mid 70s, I really wanted a Traynor rig but they were rare and expensive in Miami. I got a pretty good deal on my SVT/810 so that's what I bought. Didn't need either one, coulda used my Kasino but I had really bad GAS.

Mesa used to have a 410/15 cab but it's not listed any more.

That 410 over 115 thing is pretty much never as good an idea as it looks like it should be. The 410 will handle way more power and way deeper lows...the 115’s blow because it’s tough to perceive how over worked it is under the 410. It could sound great at low volume, but you’ll get a lot of comb filtering trying to carry a room with it. The good news is that SVT2 head alone in that kinda condition is worth at least twice what was paid for the entire rig :)

Scary how accurate those types of jokes are. We had a joke - what do you do if you see a moose in the training area? Salute; there is bound to be a general nearby. Came about because the general was illegally hunting moose out of season using helicopters.
That's wrong in at least 2 ways I can think of at the moment.

I think if I was going large I'd look at 4*x12s in some configuration.*or more

Nonsense. There’s a very good reason certain types of mixed cabs have gone the way of the dodo. That Traynor does sound good because it’s a sensible design. That Trace is even better, IMO. That Mesa Powerhouse 1200 is the very definition of ‘listening with your eyes.’ Horrible design.

All the Mesa stuff seems to be the Subway line now. But they do have a 215.

It’s what the market wants. The Subway 215 only weighs 60 lbs. makes sense, though their powerhouse ‘vintage’ sealed 810 was an awesome sounding cab at close range.
