Thunderbird Club

I do miss the ergos of my Epi Blackbird. Even the Pro IV, which I sold because of an injury- they just laid right on a strap, it went to that most-right place. So far that's been my favorite thing about this design, though the next one will have to be a more traditional... I mean sound-wise, and appearance (nod to @GBassNorth and the School of Shallow...).

Ah well, there will be another bird. Oh yes. There will be another bird my way...
You have been well and truly chosen.

little perplexed since the cabinet has 4X10s and a 15. didn't know Ampeg made these combo boxes as it looks like an 8X10 from far. not much online about them either..

I played through one of those 4x10/1x15 cabs at show where the backline was supplied..........Totally forgot about it till you brought it up. Can't even remember what it sounded like now, I'm old :(

And 'they' say you can't go home again. 'Course in my case, it's true.:( Born in Miami; don't speak Spanish.:rollno:
Part of why I left. I found the prevailing culture unfriendly enough that I took the next opportunity to go north. Too bad, I had friends there I still miss... but RI was better for making a living. Not weather though! I never did miss winter.

Cool pic. What years were you in the Navy? I’m looking up the gulf of Tonkin now trying to determine.

I watched the Ken Burns Vietnam documentary and I am in the middle of the Oliver Stone Untold History of the United States. Very focused perspective. A lot of answers that I’d never gotten before.

LOL - Truth be told I have about 50 basses to choose from, not a bad sounding one in the bunch, and in all honesty 90% of them could be used to cover 95% of the stuff I play. So when you have that many good choices to meet the sound needs it gives you the freedom to select a specific one that additionally compliments the setting, the genre, the theme, the weather or even whatever clothes I happen to be wearing that day.

The neat thing about the TBird is IMHO it's every bit as much a chameleon as a P bass, just bigger and badder. Sound and looks wise it'll fit just about anywhere. Will you have to deal with a raised eyebrow from a soundman or a guitarist that you haven't worked with before? Maybe, and if you have the chops you can put that to rest in pretty short order. Likewise, it can be equally fun to torque their little minds by bringing something that looks familiar to them but sounds familiar to you. So much fun, so little time. :D
