This guy is still trying to re-home his Studio V. It's probably been well over a year and the third time he's put it up on CL. I offered him $700 to see how desperate he was to sell it the last time he put it up... he declined. He might take $1,000, pure speculation, shipped if someone wants it and that wouldn't be too bad of a deal.

Perhaps elsewhere if everyone prefers... I think it’s terribly interesting but... I’m not sure why you don’t lead with YOUR information instead of just telling people “You’re Wrong” which you earlier denounced the entire internet for. Going as far as saying ampeg is wrong in the sense that their Frequency Range specs mean nothing!

After a few months of using flats (Fender 9050s) I finally tore them off the Greco today and restrung it with Swing 66s, and once again everything is right in the world. The band I've been playing with says they really like the sound of the flatwounds, but I just cannot bring myself to get along with them. The sound fine playing certain things, mostly when trying to emulate someone else or an old recording, but they just aren't for me. I end up getting hand cramps from playing too hard trying to eek some high end clarity that isn't just a click put of them. The Rotos though, they're just perfectly clear and aggressive and bright. Thunderbird II+Swing 66s+Sunn 2000s=

Everyone to their own sack..er, bag; different strokes; whatever works, etc.

Easier than making sense I guess. I’m sure I could have made it a little less hostile but I’m really frustrated by what people refer to as friendly conversation which never seems to make a friendly point. You won’t respond but still insist on calling it a silly post. Seems silly and unfriendly to me.

For any recording buffs out there, I’m about a quarter of the way through Ken Scott’s autobiography “From Abbey Road To Ziggy Stardust” and it’s just fantastic.
He was my first ‘favorite’ engineer/producer when I was a kid based on his work with the Dregs and David Bowie. Didn’t even know he worked with The Beatles at the time

Always interesting to see what books people put on their shelves. Is it like a trophy case to show off the intellectual fodder that has been consumed, a statement of who he/she is or would like to be, or something else?

Notable here (and in no particular order) books about dictators, fear and terror, languages, what looks like several books on Malcolm X, Lord of the Rings, and what appears to be many penguin books classics. The obvious conclusion is that the owner is planning on travelling many places looking for the ideal situation to become a fearsome dictator.

What is even more interesting is that there are no shoes or hats belonging to a mod (although there appears to be a book on the subject).

She IS the scary twin. Keep that in mind.

I’ve built somewhere between 250-300 high end bass cabs. I’m also an authorized builder for one of the most respected designers out there. Doesn’t mean I’d win an argument against Duke Lejeune...he’d clean my clock. But I’ve kinda been working at this for years and hopefully learned a bit on the subject. Those Ampeg ‘specs’ are almost entirely meaningless. No T/S numbers, no porting details. That doesn’t make em bad cabs, they’re just not really specs.

I like 18s and 15s. Why? Because that's what is in the folded horn cabinets I like. Better, worse? Who knows. Probably not, but I'M RIGHT! The Tower of Jank was a bad idea, but I did it anyway. It is ported at the back, which is probably its only saving grace, but it sounds OK so long as you tweak it enough and don't expect the volume that a 120 lb cabinet should have. But it is tall and skinny and looks pretty good in a goofy way. What else is there to ask for?
