I watched some show with Nikki Sixx the other say. He said something along the lines of all Lyrics "should have meaning" or be meaningful or go home. My instant thought was how meaningful is "...Girls Girls, Girls..."?

Most likely, but as ive said in the no gibson basses for 2016 forum: i'd give more options for cheaper. None of this 3-6K price tag.

It's my feeling that Gibson will have something to announce at Winter 2016 NAMM. I don't have any basis for saying it, just my feeling.
I tried to snipe it at $970 and I matched the winning bid but my time ran out to increase the bid. That was exciting but oh so disappointing as well. Anyone here get it?
I paid only $130 more for mine but the case is BEAT. I bet that guy was hoping it'd go up to that. Still pretty close. Mine has had a re-fret, so the frets are perfect, which is nice. I have no regrets and I knew it was paying a little too much, but ultimately I'm happy with it.

Um, gosh. Well, there are grass stains on my knuckles, so those are pretty meaningful lyrics. Assuming I ever heard lyrics. Which I don't.
What- "Red lips, fingertips..." - you never heard that eloquent turn of phrase? Come on.
Now Kickstart My Heart... There's a rock n' roll song. And I'm not a fan- but rockin' is rickin'.
I have never been a fan of Motley Krew. Ever. And I have seen them twice, first as an opener for KISS second rime they were the headliner.
I understand other do like themamd I believe there is room for people to like them.
However wolfkeller did say anyone you done like, well Sixx was the first person to come to my mind.bit was not my intention to bother anyone here. Jus my .02

There was one in my first '76 when I bought it, it wasn't anything to jump up and down about, but that could also have the way it was wired that wasn't doing it any favors. Eventually I found a new '76 pup to replace it - it's the 7Up green one now.

No way! You are a bery big influence and I, for one, want your input on all things T-Bird. Including any/all positive influence from Sixx. Who knows, maybe i will change my mind.

Ya know, I've never been a fan of Sixxs playing, it was all about his writing, direction and attitude. Today, no so much but he was always my T Bird influence. I'm all about Duff, Mike Starr/Inez, Rex, Harris when it comes to players.

My dad once said i had a heavy hand like Sixx while playing bass. I love to dig into it & make it groove. It's just awesome. But him & twiggy Ramirez of Marilyn Manson got me onto thunderbirds.
& on the subject of disliking bass players, there's none that come to mind on my end. There's a lot i don't listen to cause i'm not pulled towards their style of playing, but im not as far as disliking one because of it. I don't listen to Jaco or Victor Wooten, but their style suits them so no hate. My main influences for what i do are Paul Simonon (the Clash), Dee Dee Ramone, Phil Lynott, Nikki Sixx, Krist Novoselic & Simon Gallup. I'm very punk Rock roots, but i branch out into various playing styles & "riffs" that suit my anything & everything music style

So I put EB flats, 45-100, on me Tbird. Took about an hour to get dialed in and get my amp tweaked up, but I ended up with a phat, dark, woofy punch that I like quite a lot. Seems to have a little more 'weight' to the sound now, so I'm pretty happy.
I also got a real Tull-inspired sound along the way. I never use "Preshape 2" on my Trace head, but it is kind of an eye-opener to finally get that thing you were after with the push of a toggle...
