Have you ever used a Roland TR808?Wow, that’s crazy!
You may know, I still dabble in electronic music and hardware has seen a huge resurgence in the past 5 years, which I totally get. I do lots of live, real time sampling and mangling on hardware. Main two pieces are from a company in Sweden called Elektron. Cool stuff. That said, I recently dug an old mid 90’s Korg Trinity Plus out of the closet just for kicks. It’s still more powerful and sounds better than most of the newer hardware. You just gotta erase all those dated presets and make your own. The only improvents in modern hardware I see is a more straightforward interface with less menu diving. But the sound of 90’s era EMU, Yamaha and Korg haven’t really been improved upon, IMO
The deleterious effects of "scope creep"
One of five effects really. One must also consider...just kidding. I had to look up what that even was![]()
Isn't 'Scope Creep' the latest pedal from Fairfield Circuitry?
Bwaaaahaaahaaa!I party like it is 1972. Three prong plug? What's that?
The 'Scope Creep' pedal would have 5 effects, one switch and three knobs.Isn't 'Scope Creep' the latest pedal from Fairfield Circuitry?
those legs stole the skirt’s attention.
I preferred the shorts..I didn't want to mention legs/knees. I often get in trouble for that.
It's prolly worth having it looked at to see if it's sumpin' simple or if you should wear gloves when playing through it.Ok here I go.......I don’t like to ask too many questions but I posted this very question in amps and cabs maybe a year ago. I have a Ampeg B4R which as some may know is basically a SVT 4 without the tube pre section or as I call it the poor man’s SVT 4. I got it for dirt cheap which should have been a red flag right away and I wasn’t able to play through it when I bought it but for a $100 it was not a big deal. Anyhoo I got it home plugged in and started jamming when I got a feeling like little tiny hairs were being pulled out of my fretting fingers! I swapped basses and got the same feeling so I shut it off and double checked my wall outlet for proper ground, it was good, I plugged into my backup amp which I’d been practicing through for months and no (shocks). I plugged back into my Ampeg and got the same tingling feeling. Needless to say I have a sweet boat anchor sitting on top of my cab now. Any ideas what it could be? I’ll just say that I’ve only used it one more time at a practice space and I played a active bass that I borrowed for the rehearsal and had no issues. I don’t own an active bass so I do not use that amp now. I thought about buying a wireless set up and forgetting about having it looked at but I don’t want someone else to get shocked.
Thank you, yes eventually I’m going to have it looked at. I was hoping someone would have an idea of what it could be so that I don’t end up paying what I could pay for a new head. It's prolly worth having it looked at to see if it's sumpin' simple or if you should wear gloves when playing through it.

What he was doing wasn't technically illegal, so far as I know. He was banking on the small amount of leverage he had, knowing what the instrument was selling for and seeing if he could get a slightly higher price. He was just an opportunistic middle man. Call it shady if you like, but it's just arbitrage. That's how the finance industry works, for the most part. And, I better stop now, or I'll end up on a soap box.I'll never know. But my experience in life leads me to believe pretty strongly that people who are dishonest never really change. Something akin to a leopard and its spots.![]()

That's a Creep Scope. Er. Maybe not.Isn't 'Scope Creep' the latest pedal from Fairfield Circuitry?
That's a great place! The painting leaning up against the wall in the last photo appears to be sideways. Assuming it's a painting of variously wrapped butts. Or maybe mushrooms.couple more.....remnants of an old logging town called Boulder Creek View attachment 3353478
