That could be either inspiring or depressing depending on point of view or available balance on the plastic.Shopping for Thunderbirds that neither of us can afford at Emerald City Guitars is more likely, but never say never, y'know.

Congratulations! You have been chosen by a Thunderbird. That is how it always works.Started playing in January on a <$100 bargain Cort (solid bass though).
Just got an Epiphone Goth Thunderbird after falling in love with it and replaced the frayed Elixir strings that was on it with DR Black Beauties (and added an undisputably cool strap). Have only played it for a short while so far but love the stability the weight brings and the body shape is so comfortable for the picking arm.
Nothing you guys haven't seen before, but I'm psyched!

Welcome here!
I happy to add you to the club, we can be a bit silly and of course go off on some unrelated stuff, but there's a lot of stored knowledge here and we encourage questions.
Welcome! Agreed that strap goes with the bass.
Feel free to ask questions here and skip over posts when the conversations veer into completely unrelated topics. Eventually we get back to Thunderbirds![]()
Channel creep! That eventually morphs into 16 and then accidentally into 24. Not that I am complaining...
Awesome! I do love the stealth look of the Goth (even got one for myself) nice playing basses with a badass look. And I love your strap choice! Where did you buy the strap, I want one!Started playing in January on a <$100 bargain Cort (solid bass though).

that looks like a blast..Found this little gem from 2 summers ago and was in the local paper...the only thing going for me was I was rockin' the Tbird!View attachment 3350583
My band mates and I used to joke around about metal basses (not disparagingly). The rule of thumb we established was that a bass had to have at least 11 sharp points on it to truly qualify as Metal. The BC Rich monsters easily pass the test with 14 sharp points, unfortunately not the case with the TBird. If ever there were METAL basses
IDK, ask @bylar13 about sharp points on a 'Bird. My band mates and I used to joke around about metal basses (not disparagingly). It was! That weekend I played 3 gigs in 24hrs.. probably never happen again. The kid in the red is a locally famous player who moved to Austin and was back in town. The band leader asked him to sit in for a couple songs. We were chatting after word and he says "is that a Thunderbird?" I say Yeah, but it's just the low model Epiphone", he says "yeah, but it's a Thunderbird!... Sweet!"that looks like a blast..
This Fear album was pre-Flea, but is still an awesome album. Not a bad song on it.My fav Fear tune. Just sharing...
Love the bass playing in this one, I think it's Flea, fwiw. Great band.
Could it be there not using a buffer and or their signal is weakened by said pedals?
Sure, too many pedals can kill tone. Not saying bass players can’t or shouldn’t use pedals. Just saying I rarely hear em actually do anything positive for their sound
I normally(?)only use the Micro POG when we go out as a trio. I use 'octave up' to give a bass/guitar unison effect during solos-mine or the guitarist's. Partially makes up for the missing other guitarist. I had an OC-2 which only gave me octave down so I'd play the bass line an octave up as an ersatz guitar and let the octaver produce the bass line.Sure, too many pedals can kill tone. Channel creep!
8 gets you drums, bass, guitar and a vocal track if you’re recording live.
