Well, I think I have a new favorite string. Since La Bella discontinued the Stainless Steel series, I went back to the Rotosound RS66. I still love it, but I was very curious about SIT strings. Tried their RB (Rock Bright) Stainless and they were indeed bright, a little too bright for my tastes, possible masking some lower end tone. The feel was amazing, though. I felt I could play faster and better with them. I think they're about as stiff as the Rotosounds, but I'm able to slide string-to-string more easily, allowing me to play faster. Even if they're not as stiff as the RS66, the fact that I can more easily cross strings maybe makes them feel that way, since there's less resistance, therefore less needing to put pressure on the string to bend it. SIT also has the Power Steel strings, which don't have some sort of process that bonds the core to the wrap, which seems to make them inherently less bright. I put them on yesterday and I think the Power Steel is the best balance of everything I like in a string. Not that I need to know who uses/used their stuff if I like it, but they list Jack Bruce.

Anyway, so pretty psyched I found a string that seems to meet all my needs and feels great.

Thanks for the report. I admit that I have been SIT-curious. I am liking the RS 66 on the 'Bird but I think I may just prefer the feel of NPS or pure nickel. I wonder how the SIT silencers are; specifically, if they are comparable to DR fat beams which I really like on the Midtown.

No experience with their Silencers, but I read that people seem to love them or hate them. They do make nickel versions of both stainless steel strings I mentioned.

Haven’t tried their bass strings. I’ve used SITs on my acoustic guitar for several years though.

I'm being a grumpy-arse until my headcold goes away. Don't expect repartee.

Other than needing to shim the neck pocket with a piece of card, it was pretty much perfect out of the packaging. I'll give it a few days to settle in, then may reduce the neck relief a smidge.

That first one was the first of theirs I heard. Instant fan. Chain Gang and Time the Avenger are two of my faves from a bass standpoint.

What @GonePlaid does or doesn't do with his organ and with whom is his own affair. He need not justify to us, and all things considered, I would rather not hear about where he is putting his organ nor any reviews/criticisms of it. And please do not post any photos of your organ.

When this thing worked, I ran it through a Leslie simulator. You couldn't tell it wasn't a B3/Leslie set-up. It also has piano, vibes , harpsichord and other sounds. It's portable in that it only took 2 strongish guys to move.
