Got a nasty stomach bug yesterday that’s way worse today, so I’ve been laying around making pathetic noises and watching rockumentaries. Started with the one on The Replacements, then went to the Damned doc. Saw a great one on Brian Eno, focusing just on the years 71-77. Amazing 6 year run! Currently watching one on The Residents. Also cool

That stomach thing seems to be going around here. Hang in there man. :)

Good use of the time though.

Sorry about the stomach thing. I think I had that a few weeks ago. But the documentaries sound great! Where are you watching them? This is one I need to watch ASAP: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] . Saw them about 10 years ago and they were amazing. Had to miss the show this past Sunday.

The T5 arrived today, spent 10 minutes or so on it making sure everything was good, and it was a-ok! I got it from Guitar Center Ft Worth, I don't know who had it, but I swear it is virtually brand new/never been played. I don't get it, there's not so much as a swirl mark or fingerprint on it.

Anyway, looking forward to putting it through its paces. Initial impressions are that the bridge PUP solo'd is my favorite finger style tone, nice, but not great growl. Using a pick, and there's that Thunderbird sound I remember!!! That's fine by me, I can wield a pick when need be. This is the only bass I've ever played where the bridge PUP solo'd is a useful option.

The neck PUP solo'd yields a round bass tone if that makes sense. No mud, kinda dark. Again with a pick it sounds great, slight growl and deep. Think Pbass on steroids, kinda like a Roscoe. Fingerstyle, nice and smooth. What a bass, I think it will work for any genre, I'm very surprised and pleased.

Icing on the cake? One of the lightest 5ers I've ever owned.

More later :bassist:
