I left Santa Cruz for a place with no traffic and cheap houses. I used to sit in an hour and a half of traffic to go 17 miles. Granted my view part of that drive was of the ocean. It just became too hard to do everyday. I miss it there, just not enough to live there again unless I was wealthy and didn’t need to go anywhere. The center of the universe (Continental US... and not really!) ... Omaha Nebraska...GO BIG RED! ... actually, no love for the red states. Esaped many moons ago.

Brothers and sisters with tatts, I’m considering this as my first for the right shoulder. Am I asking for trouble with all that black?
And yes, Bird logo will be imprinted at some point...

First year, no glove box, simple door button, no 'STINGRAY' - because it wasn't. Then the marketing department got hold of it. Plenty of StingRay badging from '69 on and crap added to a clean design.right before the Vette got ugly![]()

Keeping them out of the sun, or using sunblock, helps retain color a lot. Mine is 28 years old and still quite vibrant. The black will fade after a few years, but you can get it touched up. I have the Thunderbird logo on my shoulder, and on my calf (with a lot of black over a large area) a bass clef with a bass neck going through it. I wouldn't worry too much, I have a tribal arm band that is 20 years old and while faded a little is still good.
Or a really warped sense of humor. I like it.Lol, this looks just awful...

Normally I do not care for tats, but that is different in a good way.
Thank you!Normally I do not care for tats, but that is different in a good way.
With flats, I can play my bird for hours. And it can get so. Many. Sounds. The saga continues....
Now a couple of gigs in with the T-Bird. Biggest surprise: I can play it pretty much all night, where in the past, our sets would compel me to switch from a P with flats to a J with rounds.
This is a 3pc classic rock cover band that does everything from Zep to Rush to Traffic to Small Faces to Neil Young to Gary Wright to ZZ to Bad Co to Pink Floyd. No set list but calling tunes on the fly.
Anyway, I can get a nice wide range of tone out of this thing just by moving my plucking fingers over the neck or bridge pup, or anywhere in between. Then there’s the pick for that hard attack.
I always thought the T-Bird would have a baked-in tone, but it is a great shape-shifter.
It’s also very comfortable. I thought the long reach would wear on me like my Thumb, but nope. It’s fine, and the neck is thick enough to suit me. I don’t like super thin necks.
And it’s got a really nice sounding G string, where my 7enders will tend to thin out on that end.
Anyway, very please with this bass. I can see it’s going to get a lot of playing time.![]()

My first car was a hard top saloon like this one. 2.5 ltr (small compared to the us cars)
