Pic, or... you know the drill. There's no one answer/solution for T-bird players because of the many ways each player deals with playing it. Apparently slung low - no problem. I ride it at a more standard position/height but favor shifting it where the body rests against mine so I have less of a reach to 1st position. (body back) Doing this puts the belly-bevel to the lower side of my 'belly' positioning my ribs at the upper bout. I've played it for so many years like that that have a permanent sore spot on my rib. Nothing to complain about - just part of the deal playing a Thunderbird for me. On my T-bird body related builds I created a removable extension that works like a charm. Puts the upper strap button at the 12th fret. A lot of T-bird players wouldn't stand for such but that's ok with me - I love it and no-one has ever, ever made a disparaging comment seeing me rock it live.
That's a nice one.Decided to play barbie dress up again and bought my tbird a leather jacket.View attachment 3459998
That's a nice one.
Can you link to where you got it?
Thanks! It's a little beyond my reach, but that's a nice gig bag. Down the road...Invalid Link Removed
Damn! I thought I'd destroyed all of those.Leaked photo of his last attempt at using the drive-thru before GP came to that conclusion...

I play almost no guitar but to me that thing is bass-ackwards. Guitar should be up, bass down. While I think he just made 2 ok instruments into one piece of junk, I have to admire the fact that he followed through on his idea:
Cut and Combine

That's more than my '64 T-bird II cost! (in 1978)![]()
It’s all in the recipe...Took the NR41 out to rehearsal again last night. Such a fantastic instrument.

Been selling a fully loaded licensed-by-Fneder rosewood P neck on fleabay. Had around 20 watchers and last night accepted an offer. A day later I was still waiting for payment and the arsehole messages me saying he doesn't want to spend that much, can he have even more knocked off the price? Neck relisted ... all watchers gone. And you wonder why I prefer cats to people?
Wow! I thought I was happy with the price I paid for my '64 IV about 1981. Because you seem like a good dude...I'll give you 10x what you paid for it!That's more than my '64 T-bird II cost! (in 1978)![]()
I'm still well under MSRP XD

I got your superior alternative right here...

Which EMG? They make a lot of different sounding ones in a 35 package, from harsh active ceramic through ceramic/steel, to passive Alnico Hz to mention a few.
Beats me. I don't do active, so whatever works passive. It probably won't happen, since I'm currently happy with the pickups I have until the ribbon mic habit abates long enough to get a set of Thunderbuckers or Lollars.
Nice bass that's for sure!Took the NR41 out to rehearsal again last night. Such a fantastic instrument.

Not sure how this will go down. But some of you might.
Still a little in the dark about this pre, the STC-3P. I've joined the forum at Seymour Duncan and posted my query...Actually, this looks like the exact same preamp you have...
Active Bass Preamp™
The other one I posted might be for fretless basses. Still works the same though.
