Thunderbird Club

I'm a lefty and never considered playing left-handed. I'm ambidextrous with most things, but not bass or guitar.
I am mildly right handed. When I first picked up a guitar, I played it lefty, only worse. I played it reverse fretting hand like a square neck. Who knows what weirdness may have ensued if somebody hadn't said anything.

Just back from a haircut. The local barbershop now has a screen up on the wall and was playing a Kenny G playlist. A bit unusual for a outer suburban shopping centre. I survived.

Picked up a coffee at the cafe there, and was scanning through the menu board while waiting and was tickled to see that they have Fairy Bread under the kids section. Some little bits of Aussie life have survived thankfully.

Not sure if Fairy Bread translates to a US audience? Anyway, it is buttered bread with ‘hundreds & thousands’ sprinkled atop, generally cut in quarters. A staple of kids parties.

(Funny to find a pic on a recipe site...)
Kenny G is a Seattle kid. He is huge in China. I got my polyester from Leroy's fine menswear just off 2nd Avenue. Leroy told lots of Kenny G stories. He is gone now. Leroy that is. I cannot look sharp for the ladies any more. Kenny G can do whatever he wants, and some of is will do something else.

Yeah, but he sold people on the idea of the soprano sax. Before him-and a coupla others-you couldn't give those things away. I have 4 saxes[which I no longer play]. None is a soprano.(Alto, C melody, Tenor, and Baritone)

I still do not like the sound of a soprano sax. That range should be clarinet.

Soprano sax played well is worse than alto sax played badly. Ever hear a bad alto sax player?...
...of course, that's not a nice thing to say, and maybe it's just my natural recoil to anything even distantly associated with Kenny G.

*shrug*

This thread is vastly entertaining. :)

We do what we can

My random factiod........I've never worn pants to a Nasty Habits show.

A couple of pop sax players maybe.., there's (real) jazz players who played soprano. (Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Dave Leibman to name a few) The G gave it a bad name. Pat Matheny when asked is quoted saying KG always plays sharp.
