Thunderbird Club

Updated my d-bird, removed middle pickup and installed the 2x switch, so the pickup switching is now bridge, parallel, series, neck. I also fabricated, painted and epoxied a ramp to fill the hole and make fingerstyle playing better.

Still no PinkBird arrival. UPS says there's an emergency or severe weather, which is causing a delay. The sun is shining, so it's not a weather problem. I sure hope the UPS truck didn't get hijacked and driven to who knows where. No updated ETA. This is getting absurd.

Climbing the walls waiting for a delivery -- it should be an Olympic sport.

My cello strings were 'out for delivery' twice before they were actually delivered ... to the mailbox. It took two goes to get them in did it?

Sorry. Wrong truck. The posse was after the notorious Pink Bird, who pretends to be Pink, running up huge hotel bills under the star's name and wreaking havocs on fans' ears at faux Pink concerts. She ships herself via UPS to avoid getting nabbed at airport security. So if a box several times the size and weight of a Thunderbird arrives, DO NOT OPEN IT[1]. Call authorities and hide.

[1] Unless you have chloroform or ether on hand.

Signature required, so somebody has to be around. At work, that's hit or miss. At home, that's mostly miss. So, it means planning, but, of course, UPS is being opaque. It would not surprise me too much if the driver flipped out and threw everything into a river somewhere. That would be about right for this saga.

Ah, so that's the explanation. I feel better now.

Call them ... again.

At least someone would get a nice paddle out of the deal.

Sorry, sir.

Your bird will land, but then again the pink birds do like water, jesting. You'll be slobbering over it soon enough and from what I've seen of it on the previous pages, bloody lovely.

The nice lady with an incomprehensible accent says it's all fine and that the delay is out of UPS's control. And then she put me on hold. When she came back on the line she said something about the driver and clearing the situation and it's not under their control and everything will be fine.

I like the idea that it escaped and is tearing up walls in hotel rooms better.
