Thunderbird Club

Not a cricket fan. Buddy Holly,s were ok. In fact not really into sports, watch a bit of snooker now n then.

Some times watch the kettle boil or watch paint dry.

Most sports are about as exciting to me as the kettle drying.

I do tend to watch at least some of the World Cup. I enjoyed watching India vs Pakistan for the world cricket title a few years ago with some of my co-workers from India; I'd read about cricket for years. College basketball is tolerable. Otherwise, I mainly watch if it's someone I know playing, which means kids, teens, young adults in school or club leagues. And then, of course, I watch and cheer because it's a big deal for them.

The nice lady with an incomprehensible accent says it's all fine and that the delay is out of UPS's control. And then she put me on hold. When she came back on the line she said something about the driver and clearing the situation and it's not under their control and everything will be fine.

I like the idea that it escaped and is tearing up walls in hotel rooms better.

Yeah, I called the Posse and they uncuffed the driver and gave the truck back. They apologized and left the driver a voucher for four Pink concert VIP passes and a fifth of whatever they like as compensation. Then they used a Flashie Thingie[tm] and split.

Which means I'm going to have to bail the PinkBird out of jail. Things could be worse. It could have got out and beat up the neighbor's drum kit and started smoking cigarettes behind the garage.

Signature required, so somebody has to be around. At work, that's hit or miss. At home, that's mostly miss. So, it means planning, but, of course, UPS is being opaque. It would not surprise me too much if the driver flipped out and threw everything into a river somewhere. That would be about right for this saga.

See, if you'd sent the damn thing to me - it would be mine by now :laugh:

Wondered what Janet Street porter was up to these days.

@Chucky Stiletti ...
I'll most likely be up in SLO on Saturday with the local Porsche club at the CaliAutoFest. I expect to see your AMX and maybe even the TR6 there! Fees are dirt cheap and the venue is a great location with a nice mix of cars, motorcycles and trucks mostly hobbyist level weekend cruisers vs trailer Queen puff and stuff glamour rides. I might show my 993 (last of the true air cooled 911s) but I'd need to put new tires on it for the trip and probably won't have time to do that before Saturday. Regardless, I'll be there with the Porsche club, bring @JIO with you, first round is on me!

Drop (liquid) - Wikipedia

Today I learned that there are scientists that have nothing better to do than measure the size and speed of raindrops. ...

I already knew that raindrops are not the stylized teardrop shape.
But it's a great gig if you can get other people to pay for your curiosities and interests. Doesn't work that way in the real world, however.

Have fun - I'm booked for Saturday. I've stayed at The Madonna Inn when I was bicycle racing at the Air Force Bass south of there. A blast from the past - it's been there forever. Love the pink lettering marque! Very Dolly Pardon!
