Thunderbird Club

She belts that out every bit as well as P!nk does and is twice P!nk's age. Every singer (should) aspires to be that good their whole career.

There's a few examples of legendary diva's rockin' in their autumn years - Dusty Springfield, Tina Turner, Doilly Pardon, Kate Bush, Crissey Hyde (to name a few!)

Nice. I'm not huge on the 356 line as far as looks go, but they are quite collectible.

As for SC, when speaking of a late 1970's 911 (pre 964) it means Super Carrera. It was also used on some of the old 356 cars as well. Porsche at the time never advertised what SC stood for on those cars. Some speculate Sport Coupe or Sport Cabrolet but no one really knows for sure. That said, decades after the fact, Porsche said the 356 SC was for Sport Carrera but that might just be some revisionist history in play. Like Fender with its use of the term Precision Bass, it can mean whatever they want it to mean I guess. Just go with Sport Carrera to be safe.

@JIO are you familiar with Duffy?

YES! :hyper: Duffy for me is in a way like Chris Issak - they deliver 60's retro-vibe in an amazing way! Way beyond 'cover' - thanks for posting this!

To clarify - more than "vibe" - they deliver the 'spirit' of the pasts stylistic coordination with our heart-strings.

One more reason I love this group. Any musician I love, someone here loves.

Pretty much the argument for tenure. But I still question the logic and sanity of funding and conducting raindrop research.

It amuses me that people who were born in the 1980s or later are nostalgic about the 1980s. Being an adult in the 1980s means remembering the good stuff, but also a whole lot of not so good stuff.
See...

From 74-84, people who were not even thought of yet had nostalgia for the 50s as a result of Happy Days.

Yeah, I was going to say this. As a teen In the 70s we had Happy Days, Grease, was it Sha Na Nee ? as well ?

Then some local acts started using the 50s theme. Ol’55 was good (first album anyway), well they were enjoyable anyway (their bass player Jimmy Manzie was doing something in movies in LA for a long time, maybe still is).
The Silver Studs were pretty crappy really. Saw them supporting Bo Diddley of all things.

Happy Days had the opposite effect on me.

Loved it, until I didn’t.

That would be cricket, so far as I can tell.
A truly wonderful game

This is the thing - "the 50's" nostalgia is the same technology - all the bad sh*t skimmed off the "groovy sh*t. Oh remember the "good ol' days" BS - every era has plenty of bad sh*t - more so now than ever.

Saturday in the Park by Chicago:

Listen to the bass line at the end. I’m ok up to about 3:38 and then it gets weird...
Is it worth learning? It seems like it’s just going to sound like a mistake and recovery:bored:

Since "Chicago" is my all time favorite band, I don't hear anything that strange. Just a turnaround to get back to the intro/ending.

To make 22 minutes of popular sitcom, an amazing amount of bad 'stuff' gets ignored-or sanitized.
