Number Sixty Two: Where am I?
Queen Veronica (not identified as yet): In the village.
62: What do you want?
Veronica: Thunderbirds.
62: Whose side are you on?
Veronica: That would be telling. We want Thunderbirds...Pelham... Blue Thunderbirds!!!
62: You won't get them!
Veronica: By fried chicken or by roofies, we will.
62: Who are you?
Veronica: The Queen.
62: Who is that wearing a grass skirt?
Veronica: You are Number Sixty Two.
62(running on the Village's beach): I am not a number; I am a free man!!!
Veronica: [Laughter]

Ditto. Hence "I am not a number!"

I watched that when it first aired (in the US). Last year I finally got a copy of the boxed set at a reasonable price. I was amazed how much I remembered. McGoohan was brilliant.

Hi ThunderFriends! (is that a thing? Can it be?)

I had been looking to install a detuner on my Epi VP. Here's what I came up with:

First, I couldn't find a perfect, drop-in fit. Those Wilkinsons are weird and I can't find anything like them. I think this is as close as I can get, a Hipshot BT1. It's designed for a MM and comes in a long and short key version. This is the long.

Two of the screw holes line up perfectly (why I got it) and the other two are close so that was just a little bit of work.

Here is the end result. As you can see, it's not an exact match but pretty close in height and clover style.

All good as I was stringing up with a set of DR Lo Riders. Until... should I be worried about this? It's a 105 and will not slot in the groove in the tailpiece. I tried another 105, a GHS, and the same problem. Any worries or other ideas?

Thanks for posting the BT1 install. I find the Wilkinsons a little rough. At some point they will need to go.
I would file the slot a little. I haven’t run into that yet. My VP came to me with Black Beauties, and I’ve installed RS66s followed by Cobalt flats.

Either Chuck is huge, or that bass player and his bass are 1/2 size:D
Ha! They are tiny. Never seen uprights like that except here and they are specifically used for Norteña music. I know they are not tuned to E and believe they may be tuned in 5ths not 4ths. they are almost never pizzicati but rather slapped for necessary volume..

The reason PM was so good in that part is because he was much like that self-made man character in real life. He made the BBC a lot of money with Danger Man/Secret Agent Man so they gave him carte blanc/full control to do The Prisoner. (the Prisoner was all about control) He was like an actor version of David Lynch (artist) as he single-handedly made that series. Like Lynch he had help from a TV guy but it was his baby, even down to the theme music. (he hummed the theme to the music director)

Yep, to the point the studio execs were terrified because they never knew where the series was headed. He made much of it up last minute and on the fly, and was secretive about all of it. Which only added to the public excitement.

Pizzicati=Mexican pizza?

Ok....”Pizzicare” ITALIAN for “to pinch” (with fingers that is..)
Also the the name of the technique of playing an upright with fingers instead of a bow. Can be used with any of the instruments in the String Family..
Just sharpening my bilinguality.
