You find the 50-105 more balanced than 45-105?

I do - in weight and tone response/delivery. Plus, D'Addario offers something they call Balanced Tension EXL160BT : 50/67/90/120 that I use and like. I use them and the NYXL's on a few of my basses including THUNDERBIRDS. I used to use GHS Progressive's but have been a D'Addario user for a few years now other than LaBella flats on a couple and black tapewound Roto's on a P/J.

Gibraltar! played a gig there over 30 years ago for the British Royal Anglian Regiment.....the resident bass player had a Wal pro bass and he let me use it for the gig...absolutely fell in love with that bass....
