Bringing my Tbird to the reggae gig tomorrow night, to celebrate THUNDERBIRD THURSDAY.
I'll chime in about how it went.

Before Google? Back in the stone age when people used AltaVista?
Thunderbird.
Altavista? Dog Pile.
I tried using the THUNDERBIRD mail app, but didn't get on with it.
The ones on the EY site have the same photo as the single pickups from China on EBay. Eric is charging a bit more, but fair enough. Sounds like he’s good to deal with. The Chinabuckers of local reknown are from Eric Yu at EY Guitar Parts. Can't see what those are. I bought a pair of the 9k off him. They were out of phase with each other, which he said was unprecedented (and I have no reason to doubt him). He sent a new pair which were fine. They were both in my Epi PRO IV briefly, ie before the superfluous pickup was removed, then again when I was selling it.
They are good pickups, but the Thunderbuckers are better.
How about the original Yahoo index? Yeah, I’m old. Before Google? Back in the stone age when people used AltaVista?

I’m on pins an needles now that I pulled the trigger on the blue. I love Pelham Blue! When Gibby had that “inexpensive” Firebird a couple of years ago, I so wanted to add it it to my guitars. But it was a total POS. At least the two I played. I’m hoping this Tbird turns out to be the real deal. I love my Chinese Goth, so I’m optimistic! And once I’ve upgraded it to what I want it to be, I’m sure I’ll be bragging about it to no end. But, the ‘15 Gibby is, and will always be, my #1.I liked 'em til they started trying to be other things. Got too hard to find a THUNDERBIRD in all the clutter. And I got yer blue right here, buddy!
(Also, I had a typo in there that could have gotten me in serious trouble! FI caught it before hitting send. That doesn't always happen.)
Nah, I started using the Internet before the web was really a thing. All text-based.How about the original Yahoo index? Yeah, I’m old.
That is an amazing looking piece! I would love to put something like that in my main TV room and listen to Rick Monday and Charlie Steiner do the radio broadcast of Dodger games while watching the video feed with the sound off. On TV, we have to listen to the inane ramblings of Oral Hershiser, who was a great pitcher, but is an awful color guy.Sincere thanks to all who replied about my old radio, especially Chucky. I greatly appreciate the information. I visited an antique radio forum and received some good suggestions, but could not get the pictures from my phone to load. I took a closer look at the chassis and interior. Needs a good cleaning. I plan to clean it up and see if I can get it working. Here are a couple of pics. Have a great weekend everyone.

Same. Newsgroups were where it was at. It was like the Wild West. Oh, forgot about IRC, but never really got into that.I started when you had to know someone to get a connection. Usenet, email, and ftp were the big guns. And then I found talk.bizarre.
It used to. When I was a kid growing up in Walla Walla, my dad and I would dial in stations from from who knows where. It has tubes and these funky metal sleeves that reminded me of my sisters curlers. I remember the tube or whatever it is above the glass glowing green when it warmed up.The cabinet, glass and chassis all seem to be in good shape. Most of the tubes and a few of the sleeves are there. The power cord and speaker cable are quite frayed. Made certain to keep it when cleaning out the place and getting it ready to sell. Have always intended to clean it up, never have gotten to it. Good mojo for the man cave. Thanks for asking.
