Thunderbird means power, wearing it at belt (or slightly lower) height makes you dominate the situation
Very nice! Love the color! And here it is!

Unfortunately I didn't do anything other that just play it unplugged for a bit, but I did weigh it. 8.7 lbs making it my lightest bass...
I'll get to dig into it tonight after I finish up work.
Plus, it's good Thunderbird ergos.Thunderbird means power, wearing it at belt (or slightly lower) height makes you dominate the situation
Time to plug in and disturb the neighborhood! Setup always comes after playing for a while. It's like having to wait until the cookies are baked and cooled when you are a kid. Can't do that! And here it is!

When I initially put a strap on my new Thunderbird it was from another bass and it immediately felt ridiculous... at the same height as my other bass! Which was perfectly fine. It wasn't until I lengthened the strap that it felt "right".
Yep, I find the TBird sweet spot to be somewhere between this...Plus, it's good Thunderbird ergos.
It isn't a new Thunderbird day until the neighbours have heard it!Time to plug in and disturb the neighborhood! Setup always comes after playing for a while. It's like having to wait until the cookies are baked and cooled when you are a kid. Can't do that!

That Trujillo crab walk is a lot like the Happy Gilmore Golf swing, in that if I tried either one I'd end up needing physical therapy for the next six weeks. And that was before I broke my foot, which by the way, they apparently have a name for, called a "Jones Fracture". I guess they call it that because after a few days of not being able to get at your THUNDERBIRDS you're Jonesing to play one again.Although the Gen Pop will complain about Trujillo wearing shorts on stage, he must so that he can do this

Congrats on entering the world of Thunderbirds! You'll be hooked!View attachment 3530809 New to Talkbass, but not the club. In 2004, I finally decided to pull the trigger on a new Thunderbird while I still had the money. Back then, I wasn’t comfortable spending a lot of money online. I called every music store in metro Atlanta and no luck. No one had one. I began calling stores farther and farther away. After about a week, I was calling stores in Alabama and Tennessee. Late one Saturday morning, I called a store in Knoxville, TN and they said they had one on the wall. A few hours later I was driving back to the Atlanta area with this one.

Isn’t that Joe’s bass? FWIW I had done a set of Gibson pups before he built this beauty
