8. Frets: no sprout and no buzzing. I'm not sure if it is as low as I'll eventually get it, but for now it's fine and plays as good as my others.
9. Nut: Feels cut a bit high, but that is to be expected. I'll give it a few days and see what I want to do there.
10. Jack: The input jack is very tight...i wonder if they used a stereo one...

Bottom line, it's a keeper for sure at this point.

Next up tonight: string change, fretboard oil, setup, new wall mount
Tomorrow: new longer strap, home depot run (spanner wrench for the strap plate) and some practice time on it...;)
Eventually: hipshot extender, case (90% sure it'll be the hard one over a gig bag)

Sunday is practice so can't wait to hear it in the mix!

I'm sure i missed some things, but just excited and trying to get dinner cooked and served...;)

That looks wonderful!! (Just like my VP.) One of the best bass buys ever. I love mine and it sounds almost as good as my '64--so you made a great decision.

Thx. Should know in early Octotober. If no new bone growth by then it's under the knife and drivin in the pin.:confused:

:)On the bright side, my saint of a wife just offered to go upstairs and bring down my combo amp and a couple a basses so I'll have something to do all day while she's gone. What a doll!:thumbsup:

:rolleyes:I wonder, would I be pushing my luck too far if I told her it was uncomfortable to play my VP while sitting on the sofa, and that a Non Reverse TBird would be much better suited for that.:whistle:

Fantastic!

Try various strings. Mine sounded best with GHS Round Core Boomers (which haven't sounded very good on anything else). I tried a fair amount of strings until I hit on BIG, fat and punchy. These made it go from sounds really good to Wow! for what I was wanting. Roto Flats were likely next best for my wants.

I found a good deal on an Epi Tbird case and am very pleased. Fits my other TBirds as well.

Strike while the foot is hot and you can naturally have the painful whimper sound in your voice. If she gets mad--blame it on the pain meds.
