Thunderbird Club

1st Gig done. Thunderbird slayed! I can't remember the last time I had that much fun playing. light weight and it balanced perfectly with the strap extension and was a joy to play.

Front pickup only, tone wide open, into Tech 21 bass fly rig, IEMS. The slinky cobalt flats are a match made in heaven with these pickups.

Sounded like...you guessed it...Thunder...;)

Have another gig this Friday and can't wait!

Now, off to bed...

Back at the hotel so have wifi again now. Really enjoyed Milford Sound. Bus driver playing some good vintage tunes, not sure any Thunderbirds were involved though.

Typical Aussie dinner:
1. In Queenstown, at Pig n Whistle
2. Lamb Shanks
3. With a couple of pints of Guinness

Water taxi back to hotel. Tired and cold.

She is a most wonderful band mate and lifelong friend, I am so fortunate that she's part of my life.
I'm sure she is.

I think bands sometimes forget..... I've been to a couple of gigs recently where the people on the stage were about as interesting as watching paint drying and just going through the motions.... That if you want the audience to let there hair down and have fun, it really helps if the people on the stage look like they enjoy being there and are having fun doing it! The Nasty Habits pass that test! Just one more reason I need to visit Seattle again. LOL

Nice pics. So does your set list have a lot of Country, classic and Southern rock? If so, I'd imagine the Cobalts would just deliver in spades.

That's a pretty generous stage size there, I bet @GonePlaid is a bit jealous. ;)

So true - on-stage energy goes beyond the music and when an audience both hears and sees that energy - it energizes them! Last show my band did, a bandmate from another band I'm in showed up and was at the front of the stage (in the audience) rocking-out to a couple of our up-tempo songs. He's pretty uninhibited and was really getting into it. Suddenly, people around him started rocking-out and soon everyone was moving! Seeing that, we we further energized! Afterwards I told my rockin' friend that we should hire him to 'activate' the crowd at our shows! I've never been to Seattle but will definitely visit eventually (family in Portland) and hope to attend a NH show when there!

It's great seeing authentic-looking white T-birds! When I first started playing my first T-bird, the only white bird out there was played by Overend Watts. (Mott the Hoople) Gibson must have made more than that one - but they just never popped-up. All T-birds regardless of colour are cool, but on stage the white one really pops!

We have two meals that we save for dark cold drizzley evenings...
- New Zealand Lamb shanks served on a bed of rosemary mashed potatoes with a side of Guinness
- Shepards Pie with a bottle of Merlot
Either meal will take the chill off your bones and is our definition of comfort food.

THUNDERBIRD - the "comfort food" of the bass world.
(See what I did there)
