Very well said! Perfectly, in fact! It’s good that you missed the class at Talk Bass school when they taught the lesson that the Tbird is a “one tick pony” with “mudbuckers.” Welcome to the enlightened!
Don't tell everyone, it'll spoil the secret!
Meant to ask about the Rick in your avatar, what year? I have a soft spot for them, had a '73 4001 that I foolishly let go.
I so want this...Remember, you are talking to someone who has a Ric as well...

Is there a color our Queen doesn’t have?
My humble apologies! (And to others I couldn't think of who play The White Thunderbird!) Corrected!

If memory serves (and it might not) "mudbuckers" usually refers to the sidewinder pickup

Not the Thunderbird humbuckers which are a more traditional humbucker design.

FWIW, I think 'mudbuckers" sound great. They bring an unmistakable rumble.
Back when bass players played BASS and not treble!Yes, mostly correct although 70's T-birds also had sidewinder pu's in the standard T-bird IV positions. "mud"-buckers and standard Seth Lover humbuckers are at the end of the day both hum-cancelling pu's. When any version of these pu's were hugging the neck heel they were truly "mud-buckers" due to the low tone pu position. 70's Tele bass also had one SL bucker very near the "mud" position. It's not uncommon to see them modded with another pu (P or J) to get some mid-definition. Also - in that period many players modded their P's and J's by adding a mud-bucker at the neck heal for more low-tones. That was back when they were going through Acoustic's with 18" drivers, or a series of 15" drivers for the same reason - more bass!
