Wireless just keeps getting cheaper and more compact. My system is a dinosaur by now. A system like that takes up no space, doesn't have wires of any kind to get tangled up with, and would plug into a tuner. All the upsides to the wireless I have without the small downsides. If it sounds like it should and doesn't break, then there wouldn't be any reason to ever use anything else.I got these wireless thing instead of the more common paddle-looking ones because it operates at 5.8 GHz instead of 2.4. I figure less chance of interference, plus it has a longer range. Worked right out of the box. Pretty impressive. Only thing I don't like is that the on/off switches are really vague with very little travel. But probably not worth exchanging for another set.

I'll make a point of noticing next time you post a pic.The Orville was all nickel. I don't notice the chrome tuners and bridge and I'm sure no one else does.
This is only intended to make playing at home easier. For live use I wouldn't trust it. I'd use a cable. KISS.Wireless just keeps getting cheaper and more compact. My system is a dinosaur by now. It depends on the Hipshot model. The ones I put on the '91 were HB6 ultralights. The keys are chrome mini clovers, and the body looks like some kind of cast metal. I also put an HE6 xtender on the 2013 EB. It doesn't look like the other tuning machines. Those are Grovers or Gotoh or something. The matching xtender is GB7. I put a black one of those on the 2001. The Flamingo is the only bass I play regularly that doesn't have an xtender on it. That will have to change sooner or later.Ive got Hipshot licensed tuners on a couple of basses and they work well. You should be aware that they may have chrome keys, but the body of the tuner is sometimes a grey colour. This may or may not be an issue for you.
Weird, it went up in price. It was $43 when I got it a few days ago. Now it's $50.I got these wireless thing instead of the more common paddle-looking ones because it operates at 5.8 GHz instead of 2.4. I figure less chance of interference, plus it has a longer range. Too many people here looked at it making it appear to be a popular item so the algorithm raised the price.Weird, it went up in price. It was $43 when I got it a few days ago. Now it's $50.
