The safest way to handle these peppers is to wear rubber exam-type gloves. I like to do the snap, for effect, which results in my wife rolling her eyes.

Yogurt? No.
Yogurt or sour cream can be eaten before the peppers coats the tongue and to a certain extent mitigates the heat, thus if one were to sit in some prior to the painful exit of said peppers you could expect similar relief.

But the yogurt's cheating.
The only downside to over-specing your capacitors on voltage is an increase in size. And you can always double your voltage spec by connecting two in series.
