Thunderbird Club

Today is October 9, 2019.
A quick google search showed that a pack of Marlboro's cost $14 in NYC.
As of today, Sweetwater is selling Tbirds at $2299.
Assuming that you smoke a pack a day, if you quit tomorrow and start saving that $14 a day, 165 days from tomorrow, on March 23, 2020, you'll have enough to pay cash for a new Bird

I'm bored and should do some work :bored:
It seems that the only time i'm successful at it is going cold turkey. And it works every time i've done that.

I will argue that you have not yet successfully quit if you have resumed each time. :D

The physical dependence can be broken fairly quickly. If you can go cold turkey for a few weeks, you have broken the physical dependence. However, the social cues can remain. Activities that are associated with smoking are typically what results in resumption. The best method to break this is to break the social cues. develop a rigorous regimen associated with smoking and limit smoking to those times. Then on quitting day, stop doing those activities. It sounds simple but requires a meaningful amount of preparation.

So, so true.

Here's mine to break the ice

The guitar player in my band used e-cigs to help him quit cigarettes. It worked, except now he's addicted to e-cigs!!!!
I have said for years that those are no safer than cigarettes. The lining of the lungs is some of the most sensitive tissue in the body and you want to bombard it with chemicals (or any type)? There is a good reason that the FDA very rarely approves drugs delivered to the lungs for non lung indications!

This has Enron written all over it tho. :meh: :eyebrow:
Not exactly the same, but same effect. PG&E have a whole bunch of conflicting directives they are supposed to follow, and this is one of the results. I don't know enough about it to say any more. But, the grim joke is that they are Pacific Gas & Explosion.

so, no morte sicura (MS) for you?

Absolutely not! That wasn't the aim of my post :) and I'm obviously not suggesting anybody to smoke.

Of course!

And, since you were chosen by a 'Bird, you will always be a 'Bird person, whether you have one at the moment or not. Another one will find you one day.

One way or another. I kept my Hercules stand for A 'Bird ;)

Ok, here we go.....fire season...PG&E just cut power to about 800k folks in NorCal...:lock:

Hope nobody gets hurt by that.
In Italy, power (electricity and gas) rises every winter. But I won't put on the political side, because I'd get angry.

Anyway, here it is: American Original 60s P Bass! Such a growly 60s P bass tone. Couldn't pass over it.
