Might as well throw the whole gang in there.

Wazzat? Is it a blade type humbucker?

I did some abroad study at Edinburgh Uni in 77. Traveled a lot around the Isle. The trip there this summer was a shocker. I’m not sure the things they’ve taken to are so great. Starbucks replaced pubs and KFCs replaced chip shops. And most retailers are familiar American names. A bit sad actually.
Really sad about the pubs, what with there overheads and taxes they don't stand a chance. The small town I moved near to has no kfc, MC,ds or burger king but has 5 chippies.

I have had many great steaks - if you have the cash and are in Montreal, I highly recommend La Queue de Cheval.
But what really counts is the memorable shared meals. The memorable steaks I have had have not been because of the quality of the meat (although it may have contributed), but because of the quality of the company. A couple of the most memorable. Arthur's in Hoboken - a great drunken get together with my University cronies about 2 years out of business school. And JB's Steak Cellar in Cumberland Maryland - a celebration of having saved a company.
My folks and I get to The Hitching Post in Casmalia (near Vandenberg AFB) about once a month. Rarely disappointed.

PG&E’s way to protect themselves from lawsuits such as the ones from last year after the big Shasta fires...
This has Enron written all over it tho. :meh: :eyebrow:
Not exactly the same, but same effect. PG&E have a whole bunch of conflicting directives they are supposed to follow, and this is one of the results. I don't know enough about it to say any more. But, the grim joke is that they are Pacific Gas & Explosion.
My cynical engineering mindset breaks out when stupid decisions like PG&E's high wind policy get announced and not challenged.

What PG&E is saying (and getting away with) is that they have either installed power lines all over the state that do not meet the design requirements for normal seasonal winds in the area, or they have allowed adequately designed power lines to fall into a state of disrepair and can no longer be used safely during normal seasonal winds. In either case it's a pretty sad commentary on their design and maintenance operations (that we all pay for).

The power outages aren't being driven by hurricanes or tornadoes or other abnormal occurrences. They are being driven by the normal winds that we've had in this state for ever. A blackout is just a lame excuse to continue business as usual (while the power is on) without doing anything to improve the infrastructure or reduce the potential for fire risk. I wonder how many fires will be started by private citizens using gasoline powered back up generators during the blackouts. :rollno:

Here's mine to break the ice

Lovely P basses you both have. I'll get around to posting my P bass soon - maybe tonight. . . but soon.
...and just to continue the P bass love, here's a shot of my 1968 Fender and and my early 90's Fender P bass Plus...
