Thunderbird Club

That's weird.

Surprising at least. Mind you he was a widower when he went back to the smokes.

And it was. They cut rib eyes on premises. These are the “special” ribs after cutting out the rib eyes. If you like a prime ribeye over oak (or a top, or a filet) this is is the place. They have another location in Solvang that was featured in the movie Sideways. Very touristy. Don't bother. But the one in Casmalia has been our family favorite since 1968. Been there hundreds of times. California Central Coast dining at its best. Traditional basic salad, veggie tray, shrimp cocktail, garlic bread and main entree with choice of potato and ice cream or sherbet for desert. Perfect way to complete a THUNDERBIRD day.

Potato and ice cream for dessert?

So how would you describe someone that had a $1000.00 USD every Friday night habbit of Crack that quits cold turkey and stays clean with no relapse ever?

Fortunate

For no good reason (I’m supposed to be mixing a record), I felt like playing my Gretsch SpectraSonic bass, which I haven’t picked up in a long time...played it through my eurorack rig. Looping delay (Make Noise Mimeophon), into a filter (Joranalogue Filter 8) and modulated it with a Mannequins Just Friends...fun waste of a couple hours. Now back to work!

Duke - sounds like half the fun is in just creating unexpected sonic gems in your synth lab of a home studio. Your work and compositions are becoming more complex and continuing nicely down the Prog path. I'd imagine you're starting to accumulate a nice library of useable compositions. Can't wait to see how you pull them all together and package them - maybe backing tracks in a song or an intro (shades of Pink Floyd's Echos)
BTW - this sound clip is timed perfectly for Halloween. I might just loop it and play it over the outdoor speakers on trick or treat night. It has a very ominous and spooky feel.
Keep em commin!

As much as I love Thunderbirds, and love the looks of Firebirds--I just don't care that much or the way they sound. Thunderbirds=Thick. Firebirds generally sound a little thin to me. Generally. But they sure look better than any guitar around!

Yep, they look good and play in their own way. I had one and liked it, but...

That would be awesome! I was thinking ‘dark ambient’ when I was jamming out the parts, and yes, I have hours and hours of this crap since I pretty much record everything :)

Can you play it using your doorbell as the switch ?

Outstanding! I would like a '56 or '57 with the v-shaped neck. But it is highly unlikely to ever happen. I played one and my hands loved it.
Thanks! The neck and toe is to die for. (But still no old Thunderbird.) Some seemed to have some really chunky and wide necks. I don't think consistency was a thing yet. But all that hand shaping made them all unique.

So you like the older style like this? (Though 57 was the transition year.) This is my 55. Different neck but love the way is feels with all it's chunkieness. Doesn't sound as good. (This was before I but the correct logo on it. That area and the body were refinished and they used a later logo. Fixed now.)

Interesting little find...

Might be really cool with some TBird, Lull or Thunderbucker pups dropped in.

That is good price on a really nice bass! I played Uwe's, trust me, it does not need different pick ups.

So the plan worked!!!

Hmm, I was thinking of cutting that up and using parts for a full tune...

More IDM than EDM, but I’ve been doing that very thing for a few years, just not in eurorack. Still learning that stuff. Poor Jeff has had to endure tons of my little tangents :)

Loving every bit of it.:)
