Thunderbird Club

After playing that clip, there is now a pod of whales at my front door demanding to know why I was just broadcasting a demand for the destruction of the Monterey Bay kelp beds. I assured them that I had done no such thing but at their insistence, I replayed the clip. They were horrified. I was embarrassed. And you may have some explaining to do if those aquatic mammals ever figure out how to pay you a visit in Tennessee ... or manage to register for a talkbass account despite their lack of either the technology or any way to type on a tiny keyboard with those giant fins.

...but then again.... they did figure out how to get to my house from the water, which is 1\2 mile as the unladen African swallow flies...
That's funny.

I have sever Precisions. This being so wonderful for play and hear. 1958. Very crappy pic.

As much as I love Thunderbirds, and love the looks of Firebirds--I just don't care that much or the way they sound. Thunderbirds=Thick. Firebirds generally sound a little thin to me. Generally. But they sure look better than any guitar around!
yeah, always wondered about that...Firebirds are really bright for a humbucker based guitar

For no good reason (I’m supposed to be mixing a record), I felt like playing my Gretsch SpectraSonic bass, which I haven’t picked up in a long time...played it through my eurorack rig. Looping delay (Make Noise Mimeophon), into a filter (Joranalogue Filter 8) and modulated it with a Mannequins Just Friends...fun waste of a couple hours. Now back to work!

:) Reminds me of back home on Mars.

Sure looks good.
And it was. They cut rib eyes on premises. These are the “special” ribs after cutting out the rib eyes. If you like a prime ribeye over oak (or a top, or a filet) this is is the place. They have another location in Solvang that was featured in the movie Sideways. Very touristy. Don't bother. But the one in Casmalia has been our family favorite since 1968. Been there hundreds of times. California Central Coast dining at its best. Traditional basic salad, veggie tray, shrimp cocktail, garlic bread and main entree with choice of potato and ice cream or sherbet for desert. Perfect way to complete a THUNDERBIRD day.

Currently it is Yom Kippur, which I believe is the holiday marked by smoked herring? Often celebrated at English breakfasts?*

*no offense intended to anyone celebrating. I am an equal opportunity comedian - I will joke about any religious holidays. But Easter is a particular favorite because I get to use the line "zombie Jesus!"
We cannibalize zombie Jesus on a weekly basis if you think about it too much. So you are clearly an infidel if you cannot use that line 52 times a year. Get with it!

Then build a FirePaul. Or something like that. FireSG? If you do not like thin sounding, it won't be a Firecaster of any kind.

Addiction is a complex process in the brain. But some of what is known is that the "reward system" primarily activates though dopamine receptors. Various behaviours can cause the release of dopamine and the result is a desire to do that activity again for that dopamine release. Amoungst other things, we know that having sex causes dopamine release. It is also known that video game designers try to develop games that will produce a regular release of dopamine in the brain so that little adolescent brains get hooked on the games.
So how would you describe someone that had a $1000.00 USD every Friday night habbit of Crack that quits cold turkey and stays clean with no relapse ever?
