Thunderbird Club

Things happen when I'm left on my own, (idle brain, Satan's Workshop kind of thing) The Q80 and a Les Paul Oversize Gold Top are on their way to Casa Veronica.
Wow!

It'll be here (along with the aforementioned Q80) next week.

Our Queen goes for the gold!

Can't wait to see your photos of them and hear your review. Never held an Over Size Gold Top but have seen a couple on YouTube vids and they sound quite nice. Now all you need to round out the picture are these two gems...

And one of these to transport them in...

I almost went for the Q but decided to pass, I'm still holding out for a NR. And if it needs a refin I'm matching that GTO.

Firemist Gold ?

I had a noodle on @veebass ’s Oversized LP Goldtop. Loved it.

Spiders are a phobia
Definition of PHOBIA

for me, doesn't matter if they're harmless to humans or not, if it's in the house, it dies - even if it means driving over it with a Subaru or fire.
Sydney has Huntsman spiders. Similar look but I will refrain from posting a picture.
Most Sydneysiders will try to rescue Huntsmen that come into the house and gently relocate them outside.

Edit: I’ll add that they generally get killed when they drop down from under your cars sunvisor... now that gets the heart racing!

Never actually played one so I don't know how accurate this is but here's a nice YouTube comparison of the Thunderbird and the LP...

The LP sounds brighter and has more definition to my ears. The Thunderbird sound is closer to the sound I'm after (the reason I have passed on a few good Gold top sales). My Memphis semi hollow gold top is about halfway between the TBird and the LP in sound. About as bright as I'd want to go. Of course strings and EQ can compensate for a lot of things. IIRC @TBird1958 likes her basses a bit brighter and more agressive than I do, and I think Veronica also plays pic over the bridge pup, so that LP should sound killer in her hands.

I did the part where it stays on the root and then she started the verse....
It’s just BEG, but I’m going to tell her to wait for my signal.
signal? everyone knows that song in their sleep...

OK, I don't know that one in my sleep. But having a quick look, there is an Em, but I don't think it is Em/B...

Or am I over-thinking it again?

Gently relocating outside means I'm wiping the guts off of the bottom of my shoe.

grandma used to get get pissed when i'd tear down a web in her kitchen (in sicily), said they kept the flies under control...talk about old school...

I have seen both those basses in a small Long & Mcquade store. The Les Paul semi acoustic was REALLY nice!
Love my semi acoustic Memphis LP bass, also love her soul mate the Fender Starcaster. The Starcaster is a tad deeper in tone but physically harder to play sitting down. The Memphis has a thick neck but sits nicely in my lap while playing seated. Both are drop dead gorgeous to look at...

Having owned the 2001 Ebony Bird and a Desert Burst LP Standard bass at the same time, I can attest to the video being pretty accurate. The humbucker sized pickups are clearer and more aggressive sounding to my ears. I used a pair of the humbucker sized in my Goth rebuild but I stuffed them inside Bicentennial pickup covers.

Actually, that's a fairly accurate representation.
