Nice collection!
Surprised to see the Midtown's body is that smaller than your ES-335 guitar...
Nah it was a typo. Supposed to be Motown@veebass has the 335 bass, and it's proportionally correct to the guitar body. The Midtown guitar is also smaller than the 335. It's between the 335 and the 339 if I remember correctly, hence the name "Midtown".
Pics
This is the only pic I have handy. I'll take more of the bass itself when I get home, but this is me playing with my metal tribute band.

Hey, FYI I replaced the stock pups in my blackbird. I put in USA Gibsons then EMGs. I just used a dremmel with the rotary sanding disks. Took maybe 10 min to do both with no problems. Is there a chance the poly cracks during routing? I'd really want to put Gibsons or these chinese chromes into the blackbird.
Or maybe Carlo's friend's pickups. Routing would be the biggest problem. Not the routing itself, but getting used to the thought of doing something irreversible to one of my basses.

Yeah, looks like they tried to sand it out, also something left on 3 5 and 7. It's shipping body and neck separately, actually, so I'm glad it's not a set or through neck.![]()
I just think it's some kinda sticker residue from the masking tape when he painted the neck - Normally there are no other inlays than the one on the 12" fret on a Goth...
Yeah, I realized that once I looked up the goth. Guess I'll have the only baby blue goth. I've gone all pastel! Kinda remind me of this guy:I just think it's some kinda sticker residue from the masking tape when he painted the neck - Normally there are no other inlays than the one on the 12" fret on a Goth...

That works very well Sir. I like your style!
Please be welcome here backtobass, your club # is 570, share some time next to our departed honorary Lemmy. Pics, questions and your good humor are all welcome here.
Thank you, I will display my number with pride. I am really loving this bass and wondering what took so long for me to come around! Besides, it rocks when playing my kind of music.
God that's hot.
Anyways, anyone have any further thoughts on that Seafoam '79 in the classifieds?

I went back and took another closer look at that bass - Neither of pickup even match, and that tailpiece is certainly a non-stock add on. Bicentennials were also wired differently than other Thunderbirds, so with aftermarket pups you'd have to at least wonder about that too. It "looks" like a bass once owned by Steve Barr of "The Dudepit" a long defunct bass forum, but I could be wrong about that.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up my thoughts on it. I'm thinking whatever pickups were in it when the seller bought it weren't the originals. I actually prefer the look of the tail piece, so that doesn't bother me too much, I'm more concerned with whether it is in the correct position or not (it looks a little crooked to me though). In addition, this isn't terribly important given that a bridge cover would hide it, but can the OG style thunderbird bridge be installed using the same post locations/width as the 3-point? You can maybe see where I'm going with this, working it out to be more 64 style since it's already started on that path. Decking it out to look more like these............
