Yikes, I went to visit the General Population, the 7ender, Squier, Sire people are havin' a pissin' match...........:roflmao:

Yes, I thought it was funny- a thread asking for Sire lovers to stop ramming them down everyone else's necks at every opportunity.
Pots and kettles. I had to hold my tongue.

They even attacked the guy who said, "Wow. 17 pages about nothing."

Oh how much fun one could have if they dared to compare a Sire bass to a Tbird on that thread. I'm sure heads would explode if one even hinted at such a thing. LOL
Maybe it's time to do that and watch the mayhem. Only thing is that I never go back to see the aftermath when dropping troll comments into threads.

Which put me in the mind of the most pranksterish bird I ever encountered. It was a crow, and it pranked me repeatedly. It sat on a fence about ten feet from me while I planted pepper seedlings in little degradable pots. I had been growing them on a window sill for about two months and was planning to have a really good jalapeno crop. When they were planted and I walked away, the crow hopped down and pulled up all the little pots. Then it hopped back up on the fence and watched me replant them. This went on for a couple rounds before I broke off the edges of the pots so the crow couldn't prank me any more. It was clearly enjoying this little game, and it was messing with me. Clearly a 'bird thing.

Well, I have no problem with 7enders or anything else, but when you show up with a t-bird at least you are not obligated to slap and pop your azz off. If I wanted to play percussion I'd get some congas. It has it's place sure, but you would think it was the most important thing in the world. I'll slap to Bowies "Ashes to Ashes" (birds have that nice deep slap) and It's the only song I play that needs it really.

Like this......
I really should put bridge and pup covers on it.

Yep, pretty much. That's a Bicentennial bird, yeah? So does the 2-point bridge just pop right into the space posts? But, yeah, turning the '79 into a 60s style would be a cool thing to do with it in my mind. Not sure I'm totally sold on the seafoam, I think something like an light Ice Blue Metallic would be pretty cool. I was sort of wanting to save up for a '61-'62 EB-3, but I can't find any under $4000 so I don't think that's terribly realistic.

Dylan, that one's an Orville that's been refinned and made to look like a '63, IIRC the bridge is from Tone Pros and the tailpiece was done by one of the guys from LBO, custom painted by HMR guitars, I got from Curt Traynor also from LBO, who is an absolute monster player and a really nice.

Here's Curt with his Who tribute band just tearing it up....Note that rig!

Just think how great the Who could have been if John only used Sire basses vs those muddy sounding, neck diving, over priced and poor quality Gibson Tbird things!;) They might have even made it big and been famous. Pardon me while I get another glass of koolaide.

Curt also did an EB-3 restoration over on LBO, didn't he? Total basket case he rescued?

Yes, that's Curt. I was very happy to get that Orville, if there's another Seattle GTG I'll bring it if you like, or plan a vist with Will (Gaolee) for the next time you decide to leave the beautiful San Juans!
