Thunderbird Club

Well, I have no problem with 7enders or anything else, but when you show up with a t-bird at least you are not obligated to slap and pop your azz off. If I wanted to play percussion I'd get some congas. It has it's place sure, but you would think it was the most important thing in the world. I'll slap to Bowies "Ashes to Ashes" (birds have that nice deep slap) and It's the only song I play that needs it really.
I play drums on a drum kit. It's a whole lot of fun. I also slap an upright bass for rockabilly playing. That's fun, too. There's no need to slap a bass guitar. Slapping a 'Bird works, but what's the point?

Just bought an Epiphone thunderbird off a friend.

Anyone ever wire the pickups in series?
I have not, and I haven't even looked at a 'Bird wiring diagram. The closest I have come to that is the fretless 'Bird which is currently wired VVT but will probably get rewired like a stack-knob J. It has Alumatone pickups anyway.

Series wiring a 'Bird would be an interesting project.

Yes, I have played three of the basses that are in the photo of Jeff :)
They're spectacular.
I have a single pickup Lull Thunderbird, it's very well made, great player, mine was the 3rd one made after two prototypes.

It is possible but you will get a better price going through one of Mike's dealers. You can still get custom work done through a dealer.

Yes, I would work through one of Mike's dealers, however contact Paul Schuster, Mike's office manager first as he may have a suggestion as to whom would be best for you since you're in Russia.

Tanx, this is very cool, I would appreciate the contact of this dealer in a private message)
Here's Mike's dealer page

But I would suggest you contact them directly as well to work out specifics.

Yeah, will probably also change the control layout. VVT doesn't really do it for me. Thinking about replacing the tone knob with a rotary control for pickup selection and maybe series/parallel.
