Lol, that's plan H...
I have seen those come up on local CL. Of course that would mean having to learn to play keys...I'm not really trying to sell it but if someone's interested........
No major problems with EB. It’s the DB that got me this past gig.I feel for you. Maybe try a short scale?
All the above will do a number on your stomach AND prove to be "Hepatoxic" over time with prolonged use. It's all about "inflammation" that's what we're battling here & I kinda stumbled upon something that actually works & is healthy for you just because I like Asian FoodI tried that stuff, but it hurt my stomach.
Hey that's not an accordion, is it? I've seen one if these before.
Kinda hard to do when you are playing in Ab or something like that.Intonation? Open strings are your friends. One of the tricks I learned from my daughter’s teacher is to hit opens whenever you can. Even if they are a third or fifth away, you can usually use that as a reference.
I should be a twisted up an crippled person. But, there's sometimes proof that God likes the entertainment and keeps some of us healthy so we keep providing the comedy. That's the only thing I can think of that explains my continuing existence on the planet, let alone the relatively undamaged condition I'm in. Certain body parts remind me they exist on occasion, but that's about it.I never had any real injuries, but the years of working with and carrying tools seem to have taken their toll. As much as I enjoy being on the tools, its a good thing I have a design/management job now.
Yeah but the idea is if you’re playing in Ab and the tune has an Eb major chord in it, you could hit the open G to check your Eb. Of course that would require planning ahead, which I am unlikely to do...Kinda hard to do when you are playing in Ab or something like that.
New is more expensive. I haven't noticed any finish issues on any of the Gibsons I own (three Thunderbirds, an EB-2 and a 2013 EB). The 2013 EB has some quirks, but I would not characterize them as being questionable finish issues. I have heard complaints about sharp fret ends, but I don't have issues with those.Hey all, thinking about adding a Thunderbird to the collection of tools. I’ve noticed that Gibson finishes are sometimes questionable, is there years where the construction is better? Or is there any reason not to buy new vs used?
Planning ahead? What's that? I agree that being able to check against an open string is really helpful. At this point, I kinda know and don't need to quite so much. It has taken a lot of time and a lot of clams to get there, though. And intonation is still not 100% reliable.Yeah but the idea is if you’re playing in Ab and the tune has an Eb major chord in it, you could hit the open G to check your Eb. My Epiphone Vintage Pro was close to flawless when I got it.Hey all, thinking about adding a Thunderbird to the collection of tools. I’ve noticed that Gibson finishes are sometimes questionable, is there years where the construction is better? Or is there any reason not to buy new vs used?
This one sure looks familiar. It gets around!

Too bad Uwe doesn't collect for finishes @TBird1958.
When that first turned up for sale at the Bass Store, it was a temptation. It would have required selling something, or actually several things right quick, so it didn't happen. It's way too great a bass guitar to be hidden away somewhere.I'm gently prodding him on LBO

Yeah, good ol' Naproxen ain't bad. Being cheap, I, of course, go for the Walmart generic versions.
I tried that stuff, but it hurt my stomach.
Have you done any preparation for H?Lol, that's plan H...
