I've played pretty much everything, and love my Thunderbird. Sounds great and she's comfortable and perfectly balanced. For my current project (rock / punk cover band), I need a solid body bass that I can beat on for a three hour gig, and I really prefer the feel of a nitro finish. I have a lead on a black pickguard w/ gold logo, and then when that goes on, I'll swap out the knobs for gold Gibson tophats...

I cannot find any pics on google if the clawpiece is still useful or if it even has to come off.

You might be the first person to try this
Hi I have a Supertone 2 point on a different bass and I have a VP. The first thing to check will be the stud spacing. If they match up, it may work. There’s a dimensioned drawing on the Hipshot site. Center to center of the studs is 3.25”, and the bass side hole is oval, so close may be good enough.
I’m at work now, but will try to remember to take some measurements later.

there are several versions of the hipshot, does only the supertone 2 point mount fit, or can i use the 3 point aswell or even the D-Style?
and shall i just pm godofthunder or is there a shop for the badbird?

EDIT: ok just read the PDF on the hipshop page and the dimensions between the holes are different so i guess only the 2 point mount supertone will fit right?

Don't think the 2 point Supertone will work. If it's a VP you need a 'Tuneomatic' style bridge -- talk to @godofthunder59.

a civil engineer better be able too...in electrical engineering, pretty much the only time you would use vectors is in electromagnetic machine design such as motors...generators...transformers....

I use vectors to craft my basslines.

@PillO -- how does the Hipshot sit on the Casady? Do you have any photos? (with or without melons, either is good)

I'll post some pictures later in the day. Without watermelons.

By way of background, I got the hipshot not long after acquiring the bass new from my local Long & McQuade. When you buy a bass or guitar there, you get a free setup. Knowing that the top is slightly arched (I don't think it shows up well in the pictures) I figured I was further ahead to just have the techs at L&M install the bridge (I have done that before as part of the set up). Because of the arch, rather than installing it straight onto the bass, they added a small post/bolt to the front to deal with a flat bridge being installed on the arched top.
