By way of background, I got the hipshot not long after acquiring the bass new from my local Long & McQuade. When you buy a bass or guitar there, you get a free setup. Knowing that the top is slightly arched (I don't think it shows up well in the pictures) I figured I was further ahead to just have the techs at L&M install the bridge (I have done that before as part of the set up). Because of the arch, rather than installing it straight onto the bass, they added a small post/bolt to the front to deal with a flat bridge being installed on the arched top.
Does that answer your question(s)? If not, I can take more pictures or add more to the description.

a civil engineer better be able to...in electrical engineering, pretty much the only time you would use vectors is in electromagnetic machine design such as motors...generators...transformers....
The three point actually works really well on the JC. Had I not put a Hipshot on the other basses, I wouldn't have put one on the JC. The only reason I did it is because I like to have standardization. Thanks - that answers my question about a flat bottomed bridge on an arched top.
Somehow I actually got a good tone out of a Markbass head today. I'm sure my Damnation MBD-1 helped.

I was as surprised as you and the cat! Even the drummer, who's also an audio engineer, was surprised. He seems to have the same taste in bass amps as I. I still have no interest in a Markbass, but at least I can get along with one when I have to.
GK when I have a choice. But in NYC it's pretty much always what's there.what kind of rig do you usually use?
We do Got to get you into my life. People always sing along

Thank you very much for the effort! one thing less to worry nowI did some checking for @matzingerz
To see if a Supertone 2 point would work on a VP:
The stud spacing is the same, but (even though it looks like the saddle has more range)there isn’t enough travel on the saddles to get the “E” saddle any further back than the stock bridge. It hits the curve at the back of the slot.
Mine is already maxed as far back as it goes.
The string spacing is also narrower.
You could fill the holes and move the studs back, but then you are committing to the drop tuning.
Hopefully Scott has a Badbird bridge for you.

Can't see it as a functional issue, the posts are what anchor the strings, no other contact points. Thanks - that answers my question about a flat bottomed bridge on an arched top.
You guys seemed to like the Baby Animals. The Divinyls were sort of a proto Baby Animals. Rock music, with the female singer and the lead guitarist being the constant thread.
I’m pretty sure you know one of their songs, but even before Chrissie Amphlett was touching herself the Divinyls were putting out some good stuff.

Just trying to draw an 'ahem' aren't you. Well, I won't reward such obvious pandering!I really enjoy letting a bird hang down to my junk and using a pick sometimes! Im starting to get alittle obsessed with birds.
