Thunderbird Club

Larry Graham was certainly cool. Louis Johnson too. For the most part these days, slapping an electric bass is the opposite of cool. Fine by me since I couldn’t do it anyway :)

the generous super fan showed up at the gig last night. For my birthday last year he commissioned a hand made Robin bass for me, but it’s still not done. He wound up giving me a US made Robin guitar, which was incredibly kind. Talk about tort content! Even the pickup covers are tort! I only play guitar on recordings so it makes no difference to me. I’ll just leave a pic so some of you knuckleheads can bust out all your lunch meat comments because lord knows that never gets old :)

Mmmmmm! Time for a sandwich!

The cover band had the perfect NYE gig last night. We played at a retirement community. We were on at 6, they counted down at 7:30 and we were done a little after 8. Two hours of making noise for old, but very enthusiastic people. Then home before all the drunks were out and about. Life is good!

And Happy 2020 to you all. May it bring maximum music and minimum band drama.

Other than over the top tort, that Tele looks amazing.

About twelve years ago, my son and I spent a couple hours working on boots of beer at a cafe in Rhodes Greece and talking to a very pleasant couple from England. Wasn’t you by chance was it?

Afraid not, though we have both troffed copious amounts of alcohol across Europe. Once in Majorca we were taxied back to our hotel by the local police. We had walked a fair bit hitting just about every bar we passed. Ended up in the non touristy bit, blathered and lost, so I flagged down what I thought was a cab. Turned out to be the local bobby. He took us back and checked our passports, we don't speak Spanish, wasn't that good at English that night.

Lol, good story.

a Tele-Stratocaster?
Or a Strato-Telecaster?

Did the Hendricks and Cucumber thing last night (keep it clean guys). Was much better than Hendricks with a lime. I can see it for special occasions since I rarely have cucumbers in the fridge. I always have limes and tonic water in the fridge so Beefeater will continue to be my everyday G&T mix. I'll save the Hendricks for special occasions.
Thanks for the tip.

 It is supposed to be reminiscent of an English garden party - cucumber sandwiches... I don't recall ever having had a lot to drink at a garden party (doesn't mean it didn't happen).

My "rail" gin is Bombay Sapphire and my "rail" scotch is Glen Fiddich.
