Raining here today, thank Heavens. I took the bride out for breakfast at Sublime Point lookout cafe...

That’s not a UFO; just a reflection in the window :D

Misquoting "Taken".

Got any recordings?

No.., that was in the late 80's-early 90's when I owned it. It was a cool bass but sounded weird - it had a strange in-the-bridge pu but different than a piezo.

having a hard time finding a vintage bridge cover for my 68. don’t like how the mute springs look but don’t wanna remove’em...I can get a new cover but it’ll look silly all shiny.....can I somehow age it? acid? cola?

There's a few ways to do it, one is electrostatic. You'll find a few approaches on youtube.

rats! We could all use a little UFO action at this point.

Thanks much Nocturnal, spent the entire day at the car show and likely didn't see half of it! Absolutely huge. A car you might see one of at a usual show, there were a dozen, or more! Incredible.
I haven't been to this area in several years. Phoenix is a very large city. Seems to go for miles and miles in all directions. I am hoping for some time to check out the music stores. Any good bass shops or music stores with bass sections? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

I don't know what part of town you are in but I will throw up a few of the better known stores.

Bizarre Guitar Phoenix - Home

Not much of a website but a massive selection. Haven't been in for a while so no clue how many basses to check out. Usually a solid selection tho.

The Bass Place - Homepage - The Bass Place

I used to love going to The Bass Place but then they moved on the far West side and I haven't been to that store yet. Always had a fantastic selection of basses and amps/

Guitar Pickers – Buy and Sell Guitars

This store always has a good selection of gear.

Your Music Destination in Chandler AZ

Guitar Tommy's has a nice guitar selection but basses ban be hit and miss.

The Phoenix and Scottsdale GC's usually have a nice selection. The Phx store off the I-17 & Peoria is the busiest location here and Scottsdale is very close to Fender headquarters so you can usually find a nice selection of any Fender related brands. Have never been to the Avondale location yet.

If I think of others I will post them.

Thanks much Nocturnal, I appreciate the suggestions. I believe I am in Peoria, near the Lake Pleasant area. Not far from an area called P83. Dinner at Abuelo's (sp?)..Near where the Mariners play spring ball. A great restaurant in a hopping area of town.
Thanks again, I hope to visit a couple of them before I leave.

this kind of stuff should be in a wiki.

Are they, perchance, going to play at SXSW this year?
Probably not, but I cannot say for sure. They have a website that is mostly accurate. If you can see them, it is worth doing. Yeah, it is a shameless plug for the kid, but I have seen them a couple times when they had a different trumpet player, too. They are amazingly energetic - non stop for an hour or more. And a whole lot of fun for the audience. I suspect they are having a lot of fun playing.

Soak it in coffee for a few days perhaps? Cola will etch and eat it, just like cola does to everything after a while. Maybe a short cola bath then coffee.
