Thunderbird Club

This is off topic, kinda, so sue me. It is also a shameless plug for my son, who will be playing at Nectar in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle tomorrow night with Orgone. They are blistering LA funk and a whole lot of fun. They are playing in Portland tonight.

So here is the punch line. He called me and asked if I would work as their merch girl! I am going to be the oldest, ugliest merch girl ever! I hope I can stay awake long enough.
LMFAO...there is no such thing as "off topic" in this thread

T-birds do sound darker - partially because of the mahogany and partially because of the pu's. Install a couple of T-bird buckers in a Fender bass and it will sound darker.
OK, but why waste the pups? Then again, answering myself, the BL wants you to play a P. OK, a P that [almost] sounds like a 'Bird.;)

"JOLT" Cola!

Possibly you've said later and I'm not there yet, but what strings are you going to try? And...when will you get to use it live?

EB Chrome flats, of course!
I used it on two songs at rehearsal tonight, will use it on at least a couple of songs Sunday- probably with the Rotosounds, simply because I'm strapped for time (I officiate a wedding Saturday, with rehearsal for that tomorrow. Not playing at the wedding; they have a DJ.)

As with any decade/genre of music, there was good and bad everything made then. Our job as players of music is to continue playing the good songs. I love playing well crafted pop and if done well, doggone it - people like it!

Yup. There's a reason the Spazmatics exist!

I can think of much worse things to be asked to do...

Are they, perchance, going to play at SXSW this year?

You mean like the one Pino played with The Who? That was pretty savvy of him to play a bass he was comfortable playing that sounded the way they wanted/expected it to sound. :bassist:
