Lol...huh?...don't believe me?..

It was sort of a schtick using an unassuming clownish car doing crazy moves during that 007 period, riding the coattails of the late '70s "Herbie the Love Bug". Roger Moore's years were the kitschy, silly, tongue-in-cheek Bonds which reflected the general atmosphere of the '80s IMO. Much of New Wave music was over the top kitschy style-wise. Architecture was awful then also.

Ask me about it... I play 80s pop, lol!

Neither could do anything about the other's "cool factor". One has it, the other? :rollno:
See, I disagree. When done right, I think they had some of the best looking muscle cars -

They just got a bad rap because they had a bad marketing department. Let's face it, people love Fender because they have/had a great marketing department. The same holds true for any industry.

Happy Thunderbird Thursday everyone. I am in (relatively) warm Phoenix checking on my sister and visiting a few friends. She is out of the hospital and hoping to keep it that way. A buddy and I are going to check out the Barret Jackson auto auction today. 70 degrees should seem positively balmy, and I would never have imagined fruit would be on in January!
Happy to report Saturday's gig went very well, including my one attempt at lead vocals. I also heard from Guy at Ashdown with a schematic and some advice on my little amp. Lastly, my pickguard arrived from the other side of the planet!
I hope everyone has a great Thursday

I've never heard anyone say a heavy bass or guitar sounds better outside the context of body wood density (hence weight). Or maybe I just rolled my eyes and forgot.

There are people on tb that say that to justify having a heavy bass. Don't know about guitarists - I do know some guitars can be very heavy.

It is a beauty. There's just something about a white bass. Or metalflake. although I prefer brighter colors in that than some. But I am quite content with this one!
Possibly you've said later and I'm not there yet, but what strings are you going to try? And...when will you get to use it live?

As with any decade/genre of music, there was good and bad everything made then. Our job as players of music is to continue playing the good songs. I love playing well crafted pop and if done well, doggone it - people like it!

Truth. We play some tunes that are really enjoyable, and have been an engaging challenge to play well.

And... well, yes, there have been a few that I could just be ok living without. Ah, life's rich pageant.

looks pretty darn cool to me..

enjoying all these Ramblers :D

been a long time since I’ve seen a Hornet, Javelin, Matador round here.

coincidently, the local shopping centre have an annual American Car Show in the top level car park this Sunday. Will amble through at some point. Last year it seemed mostly Mustangs and a smattering of “Bandits” and other sorts in very small numbers. eg a couple of Riveria’s (1 boat tail), a Reatta, some Chevs etc.
