Thunderbird Club

EB Chrome flats, of course!
I used it on two songs at rehearsal tonight, will use it on at least a couple of songs Sunday- probably with the Rotosounds, simply because I'm strapped for time (I officiate a wedding Saturday, with rehearsal for that tomorrow. Not playing at the wedding; they have a DJ.)

Oh, yeah. The sound guy tonight (a really good bassist) really liked the tone. Just setting levels and EQ, he said how good it sounded, and again afterward. He plays Fenders, but he just like good music.

That's pretty much it - it has a very particular sound.

"I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for tone wood I can tell you I don’t have fiber, but what I do have are a very particular set of sounds. Sounds I have acquired over a very long career. Sounds that make me a nightmare for people who think traditionally. If you let my mojo out now that’ll be the best of it. I will play for you, I will delight you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will blow you away."

Are you quoting a movie?

I had one of these - a fiberglass ss hollow-body National. It had fiber and made sounds that made me a nightmare for people who think traditionally. It sounded like you were playing in a plastic shower stall...

Welcome to Phoenix!! You are here at the perfect time as the temps have been warm this week. Hope all is well with your sister and enjoy the car show!!
Thanks much Nocturnal, spent the entire day at the car show and likely didn't see half of it! Absolutely huge. A car you might see one of at a usual show, there were a dozen, or more! Incredible.
I haven't been to this area in several years. Phoenix is a very large city. Seems to go for miles and miles in all directions. I am hoping for some time to check out the music stores. Any good bass shops or music stores with bass sections? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

any AMXs?

The The

good to hear about a good day. I know where the new PG came from, but where did you get the metal one? I’ve tried to search with no luck.
Hey MCF, I bought the bass used and the metal pickguard was already on it. I see the sellers wife from time to time and will see what I can find out. I will let you know what I learn of where he got it.

Hey Chuck, there were likely some there, but I do not recall them. There were a silly number of Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, and a great variety of others. Unfortunately I spent an entire day and realistically didn't see half of it. Picture is not much, but here are more Road Runners and Super Birds than I had ever seen in one place.
